After much hesitation, the taxi finally pulled up to Lotuswood Estate.
Rosalie asked the driver to wait in a dark corner while she stood at the gate, waiting for the medicine.

Before Eldon’s driver could arrive, Nathaniel’s car pulled up instead. With nowhere to hide, she had no choice but to stand there, bracing herself.
The car window rolled down, and Nathaniel, one hand resting on the steering wheel, glanced at her coldly.
For a moment, he assumed she was there to reconcile, and the tension in his chest eased slightly.
He didn’t step out, simply sitting in the driver’s seat, his gaze cool and detached.
Nathaniel said. “If you’re going to cause a scene, at least know when to stop. I won’t always be so patient.”
Rosalie listened to his patronizing tone, finding it almost laughable.
Even now, he thought her push for divorce was just a ploy to get his attention.
“Nathaniel, how did I never notice how thick–skinned you are?” she said, her voice tinged with exasperation.
Her words made him frown again.
I’m letting it go, yet you’re still stirring things up?” He pinched the bridge of his nose before continuing. “Leonor’s skill speaks for itself. There’s no issue with her joining the engineering department. Besides, you’re not even in the same division. Why hold such a grudge against her?”
The mention of Leonor sent a sharp pang through Rosalie’s chest.
How ridiculous. Even now, he is still trying to spin lies, treating me like a fool.
“It doesn’t matter anymore. I’m not here to debate whether Leonor should have joined Grigow Airlines
She had spent years hoping for even a sliver of acknowledgment from him, but now, she had given up. She just wanted to
leave.
Whoever wanted to stay by his side was no longer her concern.
Nathaniel’s frown deepened, and he opened his mouth to respond.
But at that moment, a pair of headlights cut through the darkness. A sleek black Porsche pulled up.
Recognizing the familiar license plate, Nathaniel stepped out of the car without hesitation, casually wrapping an arm around
Rosalie’s waist.
His strong grip pressed her close to him, and the familiar scent of cedar surrounded her, making her tense instinctively
She tried to pull away, but Nathaniel leaned down, his lips brushing against her ear. “Grandpa’s here. Do you really want him to find out about our marital problems?”
The car came to a slow stop.
Eldon stepped out, his hair graying but his gaze kind as ever.
“Grandpa Rosalie greeted
“Oh. Rosa!” Eldon’s face lit up, his eyes scanning the two of them. Seeing them so close, he seemed immensely satisfied. What a loving couple.
Chapter 10 She’s Very Skilled
Rosalie accepted it, but Eldon’s gaze quickly shifted to Nathaniel, his brows furrowing.
Finished
Why is Rosa dressed so lightly? You should take better care of her. She’s your wife. If you don’t dote on her, who will?”
“I understand, Grandpa, Nathaniel replied smoothly, his tone steady. “I’m taking good care of her.”
To prove his point, he tightened his hold on Rosalie and leaned in, placing a light kiss on her cheek.
His eyes, under the soft glow of the lights, radiated tenderness.
Rosalie, however, found the entire display utterly ironic.
But she played along, her smile growing stiffer by the second.
“Grandpa, would you like to come inside for a while?”
Eldon waved her off with a warm smile. “No, I just wanted to check on you. Oh, by the way, don’t forget about the family dimmer next week. Make sure you’re both free to attend.”
Rosalie pressed her lips together.
Given the timing it was true that the Drake family’s annual dinner was approaching, but with everything that had happened recently, she had completely forgotten.
Normally, it wouldn’t have mattered. But given her current situation with Nathaniel, attending would be far from appropriate.
Rosalie said, “Grandpa, I just remembered I might not be able to make it that day..”
Before she could finish, Nathaniel cut her off. “Don’t worry, Grandpa. I’ll bring Rosa home on time.”
Satisfied. Eldon nodded and left, giving his driver instructions to head back
As the taillights disappeared into the night, Rosalie’s chest felt heavy.
Almost immediately, she broke free from Nathaniel’s hold, using her elbow to jab sharply into his side.
