Chapter 15 Allergy Medication
Nathaniel froze instantly.

He had noticed the small white pills she took before meals but had never asked her about them. It turns out they are allergy pill? he wondered.
But hearing her mention Leonor, a flicker of annoyance crossed Nathaniel’s eyes.
“What does this have to do with Leonor?” he asked.
Rosalie didn’t bother arguing. She simply played her role, trying to maintain her composure.
To Eldon, however, it appeared as if they were in a cozy moment, feeding each other, exchanging glances, both satisfied with the scene.
“Rosa, did you take the medicine I sent over yesterday? Did it help at all?” Eldon asked,
Rosalie paused with her fork in hand. She had forgotten about the medication after bringing it home, leaving it in the corner without taking it.
Nathaniel said, “Grandpa, it’s only been one day. How much difference could it make?”
Hearing Nathaniel’s words, which seemed to smooth over the situation, Rosalie was taken aback.
But soon, she realized that this was the way things should have been all along. After all, she had been taking the medicine for years, all for his sake.
Yet, in the past, he never once stood up for her. Now, when she was ready to give up, he was suddenly the one trying to make things right. Is he only acting this way because I was at my breaking point?
“Oh, I was just being a little impatient. Rosa, don’t mind me. It’s important to focus on your health, and not just to have a child,” he added.
Rosalie nodded, then lowered her head to eat, eager to finish so she could leave.
She had no desire to continue this charade for another second.
Just then, Edmond, who had yet to arrive, walked in from the living room, saying, “Sorry I’m late.”
Although Edmond was Nathaniel’s uncle, he was only seven years older than him, in his thirties and still in the prime of his
life.
With the Drake family’s good genes, Edmond might not have the same cold handsomeness as Nathaniel, but he had an added maturity and charm that came with age.
He took off his coat and, after apologizing to Eldon, sat down at the only empty seat at the dinner table.
Nathaniel, who had always had a tense relationship with Edmond, sneered, “You’re late to the annual family dinner. If someone didn’t know better, they’d think Topcrest Inc, was some huge international company.”
Edmond’s company wasn’t nearly as impressive as the Drake family’s businesses, and it hadn’t expanded internationally yet.
Nathaniel’s comment was just a jab.
But Edmond didn’t seen bothered. He poured himself a bowl of soup and casually responded, “It’s been a bit busy these past few days. Finally got the company’s firewall set up. It took a lot of effort.
He acknowledged his hard work openly, as if deliberately poking at Nathaniel.
Everyone in the room knew who had set up the firewall.

Seeing that Rosalie didn’t seem interested in eating anymore, he glanced at everyone and said, “Grandpa, we’ll be leaving
HOW
Eldon furrowed his brows. “It’s still so early. You’re leaving already?”
Rosalie, afraid that Nathaniel’s temper might flare and upset Eldon, quickly hooked her arm around his and said. “I just want to get back and see if the new medicine you gave me is having any effect.”
She smiled sweetly, but everyone knew what she meant.
Juliet shot her a sideways glance and muttered under her breath, “Shameless.”
Bringing up something like that so openly! Its truly lacking in manners.”
Eldon, however, just laughed and waved at them, saying, “Alright, go on then, be safe on the road.”
Once outside, Rosalie quickly released Nathaniel’s hand, maintaining a distance of at least half an arm’s length between them, giving the appearance of strangers.
Nathaniel, thinking she was upset about what the Drake family members had said, said, “Don’t take their words to heart.”
He hadn’t realized it before, but now that he knew what she had been through, he would make an effort to protect her from
now on.
“Once the divorce is final, I won’t care about any of this,” Rosalie said coldly as she got into the car first.
Seeing him stand motionless, she looked up and asked. “Aren’t you coming?”
She had driven herself here today, and while she would’ve preferred to leave on her own, the Drake estate was located on a mountain, and it was difficult to hail a cab.
Nathaniel, irritated, finally got into the car, and the atmosphere inside became tense.
Once they reached the bottom of the hill, Rosalie spoke up. “You can just drop me off by the side of the road.”
