When Rosalie submitted her resignation letter, none of the other employees knew about it. It wasn’t until she stopped coming to work that they realized something had happened.
Over the past few days, her colleagues had speculated about the reasons behind her departure.
Eventually, one of the gossiping ones recalled Rosalie’s odd behavior that day.
And so, the whole company found out that her husband had passed away and that she had gone home to mourn.

“You’ve worked so hard–twenty days out of the month spent flying. It would be such a waste if you quit.”
The colleague patted her on the shoulder, feigning sympathy.
Rosalie blinked and gave a small smile.
“It’s not because of him. I’m just tired and need a break. He cheated during the marriage, and even fate couldn’t stand it. He got hit by a car and died. Honestly, I’m just glad it’s over. Why would I be upset about him?”
It was all a lie, but Rosalie felt no hesitation in spinning the story however she liked.
Her colleagues were taken aback, surprised by the dramatic turn of events.
“Wait, your husband was like that? We never heard you mention it before.”
They had all assumed Rosalie and her husband were deeply in love, just that she didn’t like to show it in front of others.
After all, whenever they asked her about him, the sweet smile on her face clearly indicated how much she loved him.
“There’s nothing worth mentioning. He was useless in every way, especially in that department, and he cheated. There’s nothing more disgusting than him. Ugh, just thinking about it… Rosalie spoke with such conviction as though it were the absolute truth.
Her colleagues exchanged uncomfortable glances, unsure how to respond. The cheating part was a delicate subject, and with him gone, they didn’t want to say too much–respect for the deceased, after all.
But the sympathy in their gazes was unmistakable.
“Well… at least now you can move on and start a new life. That’s a good thing, right?“new life. That’s a good thing!”
Meanwhile, down the hallway, Nathaniel stood around the corner, watching Rosalie’s smile as she spun her tale. His head throbbed with frustration.
She was still such a master at creating stories.
Not only had she “killed off her husband, but she also turned it into a tale of infidelity followed by a tragic car accident.
He stepped forward with his long legs, ignoring her entirely as he walked past, his aura so cold that his colleagues couldn’t help but shiver.
People around him glanced nervously, rubbing their arms and instinctively shrinking back. Clearly, they weren’t about to risk bothering Nathaniel right now.
“Who pissed off the Captain this time?”
When Rosalie saw him pass by, she froze for a moment before instinctively stepping forward to catch up with him.

From the very beginning, Nathaniel had been sensitive about their relationship being known by others.
At Grigow Airlines, she could never show any closeness to him. Not even a little.
And she could never call him Nathaniel–only “Sir”
For the past three years, Rosalie had always been careful to never make him feel uncomfortable. Today, as she was asking for something, she made sure to stick to the rules.
As expected, the eyes that had been cautiously watching her began to lose their curiosity.
Nathaniel stopped in his tracks, turning to face her, his expression cold.
Mr. Drake Nathaniel said.
Rosalie blinked, not sensing any problem. But that how I had always addressed him?”
“Mr. Drake, is something wrong?”
Before she could finish her sentence, Nathaniel swiftly reached out, pulling her close by the waist, and gently but forcefully drew her into his arme
A stile tugged at the corner of his lips, though it carried an unmistakable hint of mischief.
