Chapter 58
Pain. That was the first thing I felt when I woke up. It pulsed through every inch of my body, sharp and unrelenting. My limbs were heavy, my head throbbed, and when I tried to move, a deep, agonizing ache shot through me.
I whimpered, my breath shaky.
Where am 120
My eyelids fluttered open, revealing a sterile white ceiling. The harsh scent of antiseptic filled my nose.!!
A hospital. Memories flooded back all at once. Tyron. The balcony. The fall.
And before that…
The blood.
My breath hitched. My hands instinctively went to my stomach, fear gripping me like a vice. I needed to know. Was the baby…?
I fumbled for the call button, but before I could press it, voices drifted in from outside the room.
Familiar voices.R
I froze. It was Cameron.X
And he wasn’t alone. I held my breath, listening intently.
“You cannot tell her the baby is okay even with the bleeding,” Cameron’s voice was sharp, commanding. “But I asked you to abort it entirely. Just tell her something worse happened.”
My heart stopped. What?!
The doctor hesitated. “Sir, are you sure? She is your wife. What you’ve done is-
“I don’t need you to tell me what to do,” Cameron cut him off, his tone laced with irritation. “I paid you. That’s all that matters.”
I bit my lip to keep from making a sound, my body trembling.
“I don’t want a child with her,” Cameron continued, his words like knives piercing my skin. “I only kept her around to remind me of my late wife. That’s it.“”
My stomach churned violently.
“Nadine is pregnant,‘ he added, his tone dripping with arrogance. “I don’t want our baby to compete with hers. Tyron ist enough for us. Sooner or later, I’ll dispose of Zoe.”
I slapped a hand over my mouth, tears spilling down my face.
Cameron had ordered the abortion.
But it didn’t stop there.
My breath hitched as I processed his words.!!
They removed my uterus?
No.
No, that couldn’t be true. I still felt… normal. There was no unbearable pain beyond the soreness from my fall. Had the doctor actually done it? Or was it another manipulation from Cameron?
My mind spiraled. I wanted to scream, to fight, but my body was too weak.
I curled in on myself, hugging my arms around my trembling frame.!
How could this be real?
Cameron–the man I had once loved–had destroyed everything.
The door creaked open, and I flinched, holding my breath.
“You’re certain she won’t remember anything suspicious?” Cameron’s voice was quieter now but no less menacing.
“She’s weak and traumatized, the doctor replied hesitantly. “But if she does-”
“She won’t.” Cameron’s tone left no room for argument. “If she gets curious, I’ll handle it. She’s nothing without me.”
I felt bile rise in my throat. Nothing?
I clenched my fists, nails digging into my palms. I’m still here, Cameron. I’ll show you.
But before I could gather the strength to act, the voices faded, and exhaustion pulled me under again.
When I stirred the second time, it wasn’t voices that woke me. It was something else.
A presence.
Strong arms scooped me up, lifting me from the bed. My body shifted against a firm chest, and a familiar scent surrounded
me.X
I barely had the strength to speak, but one word escaped my lips in a whisper.
“Brother..”

Then everything faded to black.
Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Cameron leaned back in his chair, arms crossed as he studied Tyron. “Tell me exactly what happened,” he said, his tone icy.
Tyron sat on the edge of the couch, picking at his fingernails. His face was blank, indifferent. “She jumpe Cameron’s gaze darkened. “She jumped?”
“Yeah. Tyron shrugged. “I didn’t do anything. Maybe she didn’t want to be with us anymore.”
Cameron narrowed his eyes. “You’re sure?“%
Tyron met his gaze without flinching. “I don’t care if she did or didn’t. She’s pathetic.”
Before he could say anything else, hurried footsteps approached.
A nurse burst into the room, looking panicked.
“Sir!” she gasped. “I came to check on Miss Zoe, but she’s gone!
Cameron stiffened. “What do you mean gone?”
“I think Miss Zoe escaped”
His jaw clenched, his hands tightening into fists.
