Chapter 19
“Mommy? Are you coming to our school?”
un the ra answered as soon as she picked up “Of course, honey,” Lauren
call from it without finishing her spar yet, she quickly excused herself to pick it up.
the pack academy. !
She saw it was Dallis and Dalton’s teacher, so even
She saw Declan look at her, but she ignored him and went her way to the siale. “I wouldn’t miss homeroom parents‘ meetings.”
“Is Daddy coming, too?” Excitement was in Dahlia’s tone and she vaguely heard Damon at the back. But Lauren didn’t know what to say. She didn’t
want to break her children’s hearts.
She knew her children were always bothered by the fact that at every parents‘ meeting, she was the only one attending when their classmates‘ brought both of their parents
“Honey Daddy is kind of busy. I’m not sure if he could come–but he, for sure, would definitely want to if he could. Lauren quickly added the last part when she noticed how quiet the other line had become
Lauren glanced at the field and saw how busy Jasper still was with his own sparring. He was doing it with Jerome, the Main Guard of Black Ridges Pack. He was serious when he said he wanted to train harder.
But Lauren wanted to ask permission to go now so she wouldn’t be late for the twins quarterly parents‘ meeting in school. Lauren already told Jasper about this, but he might have forgotten.
“Honey, I’ll be there. I’ll see you, okay?” She spoke through the phone when none of them spoke again. She knew the twins were starting to get upset again.
They’ve been upset since the other day. When she started not allowing them not to see Declan that often.
Since she heard what Vivienne said, she knew she had to quickly do something to save her children from that heart ache. She regretted having to let them meet that day. She knew it was too soon!
“Okay,” Dahlia said before the phone was passed to their teacher. Lauren once again assured she was coming. She had gotten the call because the meeting was about to start in a few minutes and many parents were already present.
Lauren put the phone down and went to approach Jasper. She stopped at a nearer spot, trying to get his attention, but he was too focused on what he was doing. She also didn’t really want to disrupt them. She just wanted to sign him she was going, and maybe get a nod of confirmation from him.
It was one of the few things Lauren would always feel left out about. Mindlinking. Because her wolf was too weak to manifest, she also couldn’t connect mentally with her pack that easily.
Only Jasper, Fred and anyone strong enough who can tap her inner wolf could reach her. But it doesn’t work all the tune. And neither does her ability to talk to them through mindlink. It was hard for her,
It was one of the reasons why it was easy to get out of Black Ridges years ago. No one could reach her, and she wanted it that way before. But during these times. Lauren sighed. Jasper couldn’t even feel her stare at him.
“Can’t wait to spend some more time with your precious Alpha?”
Lauren’s attention mapped towards her back. She was quickly assaulted with the looming form of Declan behind her. She mentally cursed. She hadn’t even noticed him approaching. And she had great senses.
Declan raised a brow at her. She knew he was still irritated with her after hearing that conversation. But she also knew that his irritation had grown bigger when she kept on making excuses why the twins couldn’t meet him whenever he wanted to see then
“I just need to speak to him for a while,” Lauren didn’t buy his provocative sentence and continued trying to catch Jasper’s attention.
“What do you want to speak to him that you can’t speak with me?” Lauren once again stopped her movements and looked at Declan. His mouth was in a form line and Ms blue eyes key.
But Lauren just looked back towards Jasper who was now on the ground with Jerome, brawling like two boys. They’re both clearly loving the challenge of reach other as opponents
“Something that does not concern you. She rebutted, annoyed at him.
He doesn’t have the right to be mad at me right now, just how dare her Lauren thought, her thoughts about her last conversation with Vivienne still very much dominating her head.
As expected, Declan’s already ley eyes turned colder. They looked like they could now shoot up an lee spike towards her
“Jasper,” she tried calling, turning her attention to her Alpha

Chapter 19
“All I need is a single nod, Jasper 1 can’t let anyone think I have some special treatment
“Lauren! Running away from me now?” Instead of getting Jasper’s attention, it was Yian who found her. The Heta was her sparring partner earlier.
“Yeah, like how you ran away from me the other day.” Yuan scoffed as she took steps forward just so she could get noticed by Jasper.
“Wow, you’re totally different now, Laune, Yuan continued, chuckling as hur approached them. It was then he just to Declan was just
how hovering behind her, watching her as she tried taking Jasper’s attention.
With how heavy the back of her head had felt, and how much Lauren’s woll was reacting at his closeness behind them, she knew at this point that she’s just calling Jasper to spite him
she could just run away and not care about her other co–trainers whom she knew that always thought that she had some special treatment. That Jasper had always been biased with her. Which isn’t true.
Sure, they were close and he often visited her and her twins in the house, but Lauren made sure Jasper had always been fair with them. Even when Jasper would offer them some kind of bias, Lauren always declined it.
Starting a new life for her also meant trying to do things her way. She felt like she always had to obey what other people told her to do before. People just always expected the best from her for being an Alpha’s daughter.
Until she became a disappointment for not having a wolf. She thought it was the worst that could ever happen to her. But here she was divorced, fan away pregnant to the opposite side of her origin pack.
And she was no longer the privileged girl who was brought up in an Alpha house, with her Luna as her mother and Alpha as her father. She was just
Lauren now.
