she knelt in front of him and started holding out a wet towel with the basin on her side.
“Lauren.”
“Let me clean you up while we wait for Glory.”
“I think you shouldn’t- Lauren cut him off.
“Please. Let me do this. I know you have a very strong wolf that could easily heal, but I can’t just watch and let you lose some blood when I know I could help” She sighed and looked down on her towel, suddenly looking sad.
“I know I have been very difficult since you came back and we haven’t had the nicest conversations these past few days. But I still don’t want to see you this way. So let me do this. Declan. Please.”
She stared at him with the apology she couldn’t put into words. She couldn’t stop pouring her emotions out upon the fear of having the possibility of him getting really hurt.
Lauren couldn’t outrightly admit to it, but she was scared of losing Declan. Again.
But Declan’s lips suddenly lifted up on the side.
“I just wanted to say that I think I should get some clothes on first before you clean me up.”

“Or if you really insist on tending my
wounds while kneeling down like that while I sit here naked, I wouldn’t decline.”
