Declan waited until Lauren went back down with his shirt and pants. The thought that she had gone inside their room before, and rummaged through his closet as if it was the most normal thing in the world, brought a warmth in his heart.
Whatever happened earlier was momentarily erased in his mind as he watched Lauren hand him his clothes.

The rest of the time she worked, they were both just quiet. Lauren focused on cleaning his wound, seeing some dirt and wood stick out from his skin. While Declan didn’t even flinch and just continued observing her.
