Yeah, I heard about how brilliant Sarah is. She may not have gotten her mother’s healing affinity, she was still a huge aid to Glory for all the knowledge and technology she knew.”
Lauren overheard two pack members as the watched Sara getting introduced to the Council, Glory was all smiles with them, looking like a very proud mother.

them.
“How did Vivienne and her know each other?”
Yuan shrugged “Since kide I think.”
That made Lauren turn to look at him as the meeting continued on inside the packhouse.
“You know just like you knew me and Declan early on because we all had Alpha blood and we had to have the same classes, they met as daughters to each of their pack’s elites.” The Beta crossed his arms as they both saw how charmed everyone was to her gentle way of speaking and moving.
“They don’t seem like they’re close. Lauren stated the obvious.
“You bet. Vivienne hated Sarah” Yuan scoffed. “I just didn’t know it went on until we were adults.”

This time, she looked like she hated every second of her mere standing there.
ade Lauren’s smile a bit. Someone had to make that woman feel less about herself at some point.
“Wow, Lauren. I didn’t know you had it in you.”
She turned to Yuan, raising a curious brow, “What?”
The Beta chuckled. “I wouldn’t blame you for not liking her, really. She, after all, was one of the reasons why that happened between you and
Declan before.“”
Lauren just sighed. “We made choices. Both Declan and L. She may have been a factor, but it was ultimately our decision”
“So you’re not smiling for her crushed ego right now because of that?”
Lauren shrugged. “She’s mean. She tried acting like she wasn’t at some point, but she is.”
Yuan chuckled beside her casual way of reasoning. But the truth was her mind continued circling around the image of her in that vision she had.
Her gut was telling her that that vampire invasion had everything to do with Vivienne. And she was suspicious about her leading her twins away from the woods
“Are you okay now?” Yuan broke the brief silence between them again. “You should have told us that you weren’t feeling well. The Alpha would have let you neu
Lauren shook her head. “I’m fine. Glory was there.”
“I not for Glory coming in earlier, searching for you, we wouldn’t know you were almost convulsing in some kind of illness. You should really tell us if you need help, Lauren”
“Yeah, I’ll do it next time? She just amiled at the Beta when she noticed the worry being genuine in his tone. He even decided to stay beside her when Glory had to go to her daughter as the Council talked in her. He wanted to keep a close eye to her..
“If nos for Glory, you would have been in question now about your alibi for being away for a couple of minutes and then finding yourself in the
woods during the vampires” invasion. You keep pushing your luck, Lauren”
She just sighed and gave a tight–lipped smile. Glory graciously gave all the details to Jerome and his second in command once they started

questioning her earlier:
They were starting to investigate the vampires that came in and how they did it. It was also causing the delay for the official announcement of the beginning of the challenges for the choosing of a king.
Which made Lauren think..
to worry about the latter.
“Do you guys have any idea about Alpha Jasper’s whereabouts? He’s taking really long to get here.” She asked, starting to She’s been wanting to see him after weeks of being away from Blue Mountains,
“We have started tracking him down, but the update we had of him was thit he travelled through the West to avoid the Eastern caves where vampires could linger, But don’t worry, he’ll be here soon.”
Lauren just nodded, but just like how this day started for her, she still didn’t feel quite right. It’s as if everything that they were doing was wrong for some reason. She didn’t know what area was wrong, but she could feel it.
“The Blood Creature has its own unique powers depending on his strongest attributes. Historians spoke about how the last recorded one had the ability to speak to other animals. Its heart being close to the earth and its residence gave him the power to communicate.”
The Council’s conversation caught Lauren’s attention. She listened to them as they continued.
“I would have never believed of that creature’s existence, had it not for the Alpha’s experience with it. He noted that it was in a female form”
“A female form?” Sarah asked, immersed in t
the conversation.
Seeing that the smart and beautiful girl’s attention was on him, the Councilman was encouraged to speak more.
“Yes. The southern Alphas also saw this, along with Beta Yuan” He pointed at Yuan, which made Sarah and the rest to look at them.
“Is it real, Beta Yuan! You saw the Blood Creature? A woman form?” Sarah quipped.
Yuan nodded, still standing beside Lauren. “Yes. She was filled with blinding light, but her form was unmistakably like a woman.”
“Did you see her face? It must have been like seeing a goddess.”
“Indeed, it was.” Yuan smiled, relishing at the memory of the Blood Creature who saved them.
“It was like a goddess saw our tribulation and saved us herself. We didn’t see her face, but what was clear was her blood red eyes. That’s when we knew she was the Blood Creature”
“Did Lauren see it, too?” Sarah once again asked, making all the attention go to her.
She could tell from all the other Councilmen and their wives and partners that they still didn’t like how a “commoner like her had access to get inside the pack house, when not just anyone could get in. But Lauren’s concern wasn’t in them.
Yuan and Glory shook their heads to answer Sarah. “She wasn’t there with us. And we would have never wished for Lauren to be in the middle of that chaos. We were ambushed by the vampires.”
“She was sick at that time, hon. Glory added the information to her daughter.
But Lauren couldn’t understand herself. For some weird reason–again–she felt like she saw all the things they said that happened.
The image she saw earlier while laying in the infirmary came back to her head.
She was in the air, looking down at chaos.
