Gavin quickly offered an explanation.
“Scarlett, while I’m at work, someone needs to take care of your paralysis. Ellie is family after all, and she’s much better suited for this than a nurse.”
Hearing this, I didn’t respond.
Gavin Braxton seemed slightly nervous and quickly called to Ellie Johnson.
“Ellie, didn’t you say you had something to give your sister in law? Ilurry up and bring it out.”
At his words, Ellie took out a jump rope from behind her and handed it to me
“Sister–in–law, jump rope is great for your physical and mental health. You should try it more often.”
But right after saying this, she feigned surprise and laughed.
“Oh, I forgot. You’re a cripple, aren’t you?”
Hearing this, Gavin shot Ellie a warning glance.
Ellie, unfazed, pulled out a large pack of adult diapers.
Pouting playfully, she said, “Brother Gavin, I was just joking earlier. This is what I really wanted to give her.”
Seeing this, Gavin broke into a smile.
“Scarlett, look how thoughtful Ellie is. This mischievous little girl is actually so considerate to think of something this practical for you!”
While saying this, Gavin kept watching my expression closely.
I gave a lukewarm response with a low hum.
After we got out of the car, Gavin carried me in a bridal style back into the house.
That evening, Gavin personally cooked dinner, preparing all my favorite dishes.
After we ate, he knelt at my feet, massaging my legs at the usual time.
As he worked, his eyes gleamed as he asked softly, “Does this feel good?”
I nodded indifferently.
When it was time to sleep, Gavin seemed to notice I wasn’t quite myself.
He held me tightly in his arms.
“Scarlett, I love you so much!”
But after I pretended to fall asleep, I heard faint noises beside me.
Gavin lowered his voice. “Are you crazy? Why are you wearing my wife’s underwear?”
Ellie, however, showed no panic. “Don’t pretend. You’re the one who called me here.”
“Don’t think I didn’t notice. I saw you put sleeping pills in that so–called paralysis medicine today.”
Exposed, Gavin stopped pretending.
He and Ellie quickly rolled under the bed.
Gavin sighed.

Chapter 2
Scarlett’s pregnant right now. I just couldn’t hear to touch her, that’s all.”
Fearing poison, I vomited out every drop of that so–called paralysis medicine.
All night, I endured the sound of their intimacy.
The next morning, Gavin acted as though nothing had happened.
Feeling refreshed, Gavin Braxton leaned close to my ear and murmured, “Scarlett, wake up. I made breakfast for you.”
During breakfast, Ellie Johnson couldn’t keep her foot to herself and began playing footsie with Gavin under the table.
Thinking I was too focused on eating, Gavin responded to her advances.
As breakfast neared its end, Ellie suggested we go to an amusement park.
“It would be good for Scarlett to get out more,” she said. “It might even help with her recovery,”
Out of habit, Gavin first asked for my opinion. “Scarlett, what do you think?”
What was there to think about? What could a disabled person like me even.de at an amusement park?
But I merely nodded indifferently. “Whatever you want.”
After all, I had been stuck at home for far too long.
We walked there.
Gavin pushed my wheelchair as we strolled.
Halfway there, Ellie pointed at a nearby tactile paving path and asked curiously,
“Hey, why is this path empty?”
Without waiting for an answer, she walked onto it.
Gavin quickly called her back. “Ellie, that’s a path for the visually impaired. You shouldn’t use it.”
Ellie shook her head dismissively.
“There’s no one here anyway. Who cares if it’s for the blind or not?”
Gavin sighed indulgently and shook his head. “This girl…”
Not long after, we came across a blind man walking slowly with a white cane.
Ellie frowned and shoved him aside.
“Don’t block the path.”
In the next moment, the blind man fell to the ground, his cane snapping in two
Immediately, the man cried out in panic,
“Without my cane, how am I supposed to get home?”
He trembled all over as he spoke.
But Ellie sneered.
“You’re just pretending to be blind so you can use the tactile path. How despicable!”
Hearing this, the blind man, furious, pulled a disability ID from his pocket and shakily shoved it in front of Ellie.
“I am blind!”
