Dr. Caldwell, noticing her state, immediately wiped the sweat from her forehead and fanned her while murmuring encouragement. “Ms. Everett, hang in there!”
Finally, as she placed the last needle, the beeping of the monitors shifted. Paul’s vitals gradually stabilized.
Watching as the heart rate monitor displayed a steady rhythm, Brynn finally let out a slow breath, her entire body relaxing gradually.
The moment the tension left her, exhaustion and soreness flooded in all at once. Her knees went weak, and she nearly collapsed to the ground…
“Ms. Everett, are you alright?”
Brynn waved her hand dismissively. “I’m fine.”
After taking a moment to steady herself, she walked out of the operating room.
As soon as Brynn and Dr. Caldwell emerged, Brenda, who had been anxiously waiting outside, rushed toward them.
“Dear, my husband… ?”
“Don’t worry, Ma’am. Paul is out of danger now,” Brynn said, forcing a tired smile.
Brenda’s eyes immediately welled up with tears, and the weight on her heart finally lifted.
“Thank you, thank you so much…”
Overwhelmed with relief, she hugged Brynn tightly, letting all the fear and tension melt into tears that streamed down her
face.
Dr. Caldwell watched the scene unfold, a whirlwind of emotions stirring inside him.
He was just about to ask Brynn about her connection to the legendary doctor when a nurse suddenly rushed over.
She clutched a phone, her face full of panic.
“Director, we have a problem!”
His question froze in his throat.
The nurse, completely ignoring his reaction, quickly pulled up a social media post from Dr. Creed and showed it to him.
“Look at this! The internet is in an uproar, calling our hospital a corrupt institution!” The nurse was on the verge of tears.

She glanced toward Brynn as she spoke.
Dr. Caldwell took the phone and scanned the comments, his face darkening.
Damn it. This was a disaster.
If the President found out that his wife was being dragged into a scandal because of him, he was doomed.
Brynn, confused by the conversation, pulled out her own phone-
Only to see a trending post at the top of the headlines.
“This is complete nonsense!”
Brenda saw the post as well and immediately grew
anxious.

“Let’s move to my office. Ms. Everett, you need some rest,” Dr. Caldwell said, tossing the phone back to the nurse with a grim expression. “Don’t worry, I’ll handle this.”

Brenda wiped her tears and nodded quickly, then supported Brynn as they headed to the office.
However, before they could get far, the crowded hospital halls made it impossible to go unnoticed.
“Wait a minute! Aren’t you that shady doctor from the internet?”
A man holding a payment receipt widened his eyes and pointed at her.
His voice was loud, instantly drawing the attention of everyone in the corridor.
Brynn frowned. “Slandering someone without evidence–I could sue
you
for that.”
“Sue me? Ha! Everyone online knows the truth!”
The man rolled his eyes, scanning both Brynn and Dr. Caldwell suspiciously before suddenly smirking as if he had figured something out.
“Oh, I see how it is. The internet says your private life is a total mess. You must be sleeping with the Director–that’s the only way he’d let you work here without a license!”
