‘I had only said a couple of bad things about her. Was that really enough for her to hold a grudge and want to kill me?
The blond guy was starting to get scared. “N–No, we’re just having a fight, there’s no need to kill anyone…
Brynn let out a cold laugh. “Weren’t you just all tough? What’s the matter, not so brave now?”
The blond guy was silent. ‘Fighting and killing… aren’t those two completely different things?”
“This woman was ruthless!‘ he thought to himself.
The room fell into an uncomfortable silence. Everyone looked at each other, not daring to speak.
Seeing that she had intimidated everyone into silence, Brynn finally softened her tone. “Since you’re too scared, then apologize.”
“But why should I…” the blond guy started to protest.
“Then go ahead and kill him!” Brynn’s expression remained blank. “Pick one.”
The blond guy hesitated, then sighed in defeat. ‘Fine, I’ll apologize.
He didn’t want to end up in jail!
Reluctantly, he walked over to Josh and awkwardly mumbled an apology.
Josh was a bit confused, clearing his throat and waving it off.
Brynn relaxed as the tension between the two eased. She dropped the steel pipe in her hand.
But the moment the pipe hit the ground, the blond guy, who had just been put in his place, suddenly regained his
arrogance.
“Hey, beauty, what class are you in? Do you know who I am? Do you know what will happen to you if you mess with me at this school?” he said, his tone full of defiance.
His lackeys nodded in agreement.
Brynn gave him a cold, unamused look and calmly responded, “I’m your substitute teacher for today. You can call me ‘Ms. Everett.”
Josh blinked, caught off guard by her new identity.
The blond guy and his friends were momentarily stunned, but then they couldn’t help but burst into laughter. “Did you hear what she said? She said she’s a teacher, hahahaha!”
“She’s a teacher? Hahaha!” The group of troublemakers looked at Brynn, laughing exaggeratedly.
“Lady, you don’t look much older than us. How are you supposed to be our teacher?“The blond guy laughed hysterically while pointing at Brynn, mocking her.
Although Josh didn’t understand how Brynn ended up being his teacher, seeing them bully a woman, he stepped in front of Brynn, defending her. “What’s so funny? Ms. Brynn is highly skilled, enough to be our teacher!”
Brynn was a bit surprised to hear Josh speak up for her.
She thought he might dislike having her as a teacher…

“My father’s illness was cured by Ms. Everett,” Josh continued.
The blond guy scoffed, “What do you, a bottom–of–the–class kid, know about medicine? Just because she gave your dad some random medicine doesn’t make her a divine doctor!”
Josh opened his mouth to retort but fell silent, unsure of how to respond.
He had never felt so ashamed of being a bottom–tier student,
But it wasn’t that Josh didn’t try hard–it was just that his family situation was complicated.
He had to work part–time every day, barely having time for his studies.
“It’s okay,” Brynn noticed Josh’s self–doubt and gently patted his shoulder to comfort him. “As long as you’re willing to learn and put in the effort, it’s never too late.”
Josh’s heart calmed instantly.
He nodded lightly and made a silent vow in his heart.
‘From now on, I’m going to study hard and slap these punks in the face!‘
“Pfft, you’re always going to be a failure, no matter how much you try,” the blond guy sneered, rolling his eyes in disgust.
“You think you’re the main character of a story? A failed student who beats the odds to become a top scholar? Hahaha!” His cronies joined in, chuckling and echoing his mockery.
The entire classroom was filled with their laughter, making it uncomfortable for Josh.
Josh clenched his fists, feeling the urge to react.
Luckily, Brynn was quick to grab his arm.
She pulled him back, stepping in front of him and staring calmly at the blond guy. “Hey, with that attitude, you must be quite knowledgeable in traditional medicine, right?”
The blond guy lifted his chin smugly. “Of course!”
“Well then,” Brynn smiled slightly, “let me test your knowledge. You know about bird flu, right? Can you tell me which bird is most susceptible to it?”
“Pfft, obviously chickens,” the blond guy said dismissively. “You think I’m a kid?”
‘This is such an easy question to answer, so why even bother asking? It’s clear she doesn’t really know anything about medicine.’
“Right, but which type of chicken is most likely to catch bird flu?”
The blond guy hesitated, then arrogantly replied, “Well, it’s obviously the skinny, weak chickens, right?”
“Wrong.” Brynn smiled, shaking her head. “In fact, it’s the strongest chickens that are more likely to get bird flu. They have strong wind and fire energy, which makes them more susceptible to infection.”
The blond guy was stunned, his face frozen in confusion.
Brynn Everett sneered and continued to twist the knife.
Brynn let out a small laugh, adding, “You can’t even answer such a simple question, and you’re out here mocking others as failures?”
