“You have two choices. Either you leave on your own, I call the police. You do know that aphrodisiacs. are illegal, right? If you get caught and investigated, things won’t end well for you.”
“Naomi, do you think protecting Shane means he’ll try be good to you?” Shirley’s face contorted with rage as she realized she had no way out. Still, she refused to back down quietly. “He’s only interested in you because you’re something new. Once he’s had his fun, full toss you asidel
Naomi remained unfazed, her lips curling into a barely perceptible smile. “Sorry, but whatever happens between Shane and me is our business. Not yours,”
She watched indifferently as Shirley, now silent, hurriedly threw on her clothes and scurried out of the apartment in humiliation.
“Naomi… thank you… Shane mumbled.
Once Shirley was gone, Naomi finally turned her attention to Shane, who was now completely unconscious. Her gaze landed on his half–exposed chest. The well–defined pecs and sculpted abs caused her cheeks to heat up involuntarily. “Ahem… Maybe you should put on some clothes first?”
But Shane only groaned in discomfort. ‘So hot… I feel awful…”
Seeing his state, Naomi realized he was in no condition to do anything on his own. Well, since she was his girlfriend now. Taking care of him was not exactly inappropriate, was it?
Even if she accidentally saw something, it should not be a big deal… right?
“Hot… too hot…” Shane continued mumbling.
Naomi quickly stepped forward and helped him up, struggling to support his weight as she guided him toward the bathroom. His entire body leaned heavily against hers, but thankfully, she was strong enough to handle it.
She gently lowered him into the bathtub and turned on the cold water, letting it pour over him.
The icy stream shocked
his overheated body, gradually cooling the feverish flush on his skin. His dazed eyes slowly regained clarity.
Still half–conscious, he mumbled an urgent explanation “Naomi, it’s not what you think. Shirley said she wanted to clear things up, that she wouldn’t bother me anymore. I didn’t expect her to drug me. I swear, I didn’t do anything with her… really…”
Naomi reached out, pressing a slender finger against his lips to silence him. “I know. I believe you.”
“You’re not mad?” Shane asked.
“Why would I be?” She turned off the tap and stood up. Right now, all you need to do is rest. Sleep it off. You’ll feel better when you wake up.
But Shane was still burning up. His fingers clenched around her wrist, his grip tight and desperate. “Naomi… I’m burning up.. help me…”
Naomi looked at Shane’s features, the water droplets sliding down his collarbones, the muscles faintly

The bathroom was silent except for the soft dripping of water, amplifying the thick, growing tension in the
air.
His fevered eyes locked onto hers, pleading. “Naomi…”
With one tug, he pulled her closer, so close that she could smell the faint scent of tea lingering on his skin. His lips hovered just inches away. They were listening and inviting.
Naomi clenched her fists. The hotter Shane was, the calmer she had to be.
No matter how much she reminded herself that she was now his rightful girlfriend and that nothing would be wrong even if something did happen. She still turned away, leaving him with nothing but the cool silhouette of her back.
“I left a towel here for you. Take your time. I also prepared some warm water for you outside.” Then, she stepped out of the bathroom
Shane could barely recall what happened after that. He only remembered mustering the last shred of his self–control to get out of the tub, put on some clothes, and then he passed out.
By the time he awoke the next morning, sunlight was streaming in through the windows.
The first thing he saw was Naomi, asleep at his bedside
“How long did I sleep for. Naomi?”
She was still wearing the same clothes from last night, her body slumped over the edge of the bed. Her long lashes trembled slightly with each slow, even breath.
On the bedside table sat a glass of water, some medicine, and a still–warm towel. Clearly, she had stayed up all night taking care of him.
Meanwhile, at the Judd Mansion…
“Mr. Flynn, I was in coma because of your family, and my daughter is in jail because of your family. Do you really think you can just throw some money at me and make me go away?”
For what felt like the hundredth time, Lucie, the nanny, stood at the Judd family’s doorstep, making a
scene.
Flynn sighed, his expression a mixture of exasperation and resignation. I’ve already given you 200,000 dollars in compensation. What more do you want?”
