At these words, a flicker of triumph flashed in Lucie’s eyes, but her expression remained sorrowful. She simply lowered her head and murmured, “Yes.”
After serving Flynt his meal, Lucie went upstairs to settle in.

I just saw her using her heroic act to bully the other maids! She’s nothing but a troublemaker. We should get rid of her as soon as possible!”
“Jeremy Judd!” Flynn’s voice suddenly turned sharp, calling his son’s full name. “Lucie has been part of this household for years. She was the closest to your mother. She would never do such a thing. We are a family of status. We must not be ungrateful and throw out someone who once saved my life!”
Jeremy could hardly believe what he was hearing. His her had completely fallen for Lucie’s act. His urgency grew. “Dad, this isn’t about being ungrateful! We already offered her financial compensation, but she’s the one who got greedy! If she really has nowhere to go, we can rent her an apartment elsewhere. There’s no reason for her to live here!”
Seeing his son argue so stubbornly, Flynn’s hands trembled with fury as he pointed at him. “You… You unfilial son! You even dare to defy me now? I’ve already decided. She stays! And there’s nothing you can do
about it!”
Jeremy clenched his fists, his eyes burning with rage. “Dad, can’t you see? She doesn’t care about that 200,000 dollars. What she wants is Mother’s place in this family!”
A loud smack echoed through the room.
Flynn’s palm trembled after striking Jeremy across the face. His voice shook with anger. “How dare you mention your mother? When she was alive, did you ever show her respect? Did you ever take care of her? She saw Lucie more than she saw you! Get out! You ungrateful child. Get out of my sight!”
Jeremy’s chest heaved with fury, but he knew there was no point in arguing further. His father had already been completely manipulated.
