Chapter 17
Aria had deliberately said those words to Larry.
She knew his personality too well.
Seeing Larry’s face darken, Aria merely let her eyes flash briefly.
“It seems your ‘senior‘ has quite the connections. But being transferred to Harbour Hospital doesn’t mean just any medical team can cure your mother and brother.”
Larry had barely finished his sarcastic remark when Dr. Alexander appeared, strolling casually toward them in his white coat. Several medical staff followed behind him. Dr. Alexander gave some brief instructions, and his secretary distributed thick stacks of documents among the staff.
Catching sight of Archer and Aria from the corner of his eye, Dr. Alexander raised an eyebrow. As he approached, he overheard Larry’s mocking challenge.
Seriously?
Did this man not know who Archer was?
What an idiot.
Dr. Alexander clicked his tongue lightly, his voice filled with mockery as he approached.
“Miss Jackson’s mother and brother are my patients. Do you have any other questions?”
He’d come over to watch the drama and show off a little.
Dr. Alexander felt somewhat smug, but after glancing at Archer’s calm expression, he cleared his throat.
Larry was completely stunned.
He remembered Dr. Alexander all too well–the one who had told him he was blind in his eyes and heart and needed medication.
Dr. Alexander let out a playful voice, “Mr. Spencer, have you taken your medicine?”
What medicine? He wasn’t sick!
With Dr. Alexander’s arrival, it wasn’t just Larry who became nervous. Lucy, who was being loosely held by Larry’s assistant, also panicked.
Last time, it was this Dr. Alexander who had seen through her fake illness and had threatened to use long needles on her!
The mere mention of “Dr. Alexander” made her scalp tingle.
This time she was genuinely sick–she had deliberately soaked in cold water to make herself ill, hoping to gain Larry’s sympathy. The illness was real, but the fainting was fake.

She trembled as she “regained consciousness” in the assistant’s arms, calling out, “Larry, I feel terrible…”
Actually, she would have been better off staying quiet. As soon as she spoke, Dr. Alexander’s gaze fell on her. He scanned her up and down and remarked sarcastically, “Mr. Spencer, you’d better take Miss Landon for treatment quickly. Since she’s finally ‘sick‘ again, she should really make the most of it.”
He had figured out that she’d made herself sick on purpose!
Lucy’s heart skipped a beat, but fortunately, Larry hadn’t caught the implication.
Larry was eager to leave. With a darkened face, he turned to go, but as he hurried away, Aria called after him.
“Larry.
“When you have time, let’s go get our divorce certificate.”
Larry clenched his fists, suppressing the anger in his heart. In the end, he couldn’t contain his rage. He turned around and glared intensely at Aria.
“Aria, why must you say such heartless things today! Do you know what day it is? It’s our wedding anniversary! Do you know what I’ve prepared?”
Aria was truly merciless.
He had arranged drone fireworks, reserved a romantic restaurant, and prepared flowers and gifts. He had wanted to properly celebrate this wedding anniversary with Aria.
The more Larry thought about it, the more he felt she was cruel and heartless. Aria looked at the man before her with a calm, detached expression.
“I don’t know what you’ve prepared.
“But I do know you spent last night at a hotel with another woman, and she wasn’t Lucy.
“Larry, before you play the role of devoted husband, ask yourself if you deserve it. You have another woman’s kiss marks on your neck, your precious mistress by your side, yet you speak of our wedding anniversary.
“Is this really our wedding anniversary? Or is it another day where you celebrate another affair?”
