Chapter 7
After we announced our divorce, Xavier couldn’t shake off the label of
cheating during our marriage.

But he couldn’t care less. As a male celebrity and award–winning actor, such scandals barely affected him. There would always be people willing to forgive him.
Afterward, he began frequently appearing with Rachel at various public events, issuing statements to clear her name, and paving the way for her
acting career.
With Xavier’s wealth and influence, these matters were quickly settled.
By the time I saw them again, Rachel had completed filming a big–budget movie and made a high–profile comeback.
Tonight was a birthday celebration for a veteran in the industry, and out of courtesy, I had to attend.
Just as I arrived at the entrance of the banquet hall, I saw Rachel walking toward me arm in arm with Xavier to greet me.
“Sabrina, long time no see. I heard you recently filmed an indie movie? Are you having some difficulties? How did your resources downgrade so drastically?”
In front of Xavier, Rachel always pretended to be sweet and innocent.
She seemed to have forgotten that I once told her I would make her life a living hell.

Perhaps our peaceful coexistence for so long made her think I was just trying to scare her.
Daisy immediately fired back: “Mind your words, Ms. Wright. Filming indie movies doesn’t mean downgrading resources. That director has won major international awards. Your comment could easily offend people.”
‘Rachel’s expression flickered briefly, but she quickly smiled again. Leaning against Xavier’s arm, she pouted: “It doesn’t matter if I offend people, my husband will protect me anyway. We’ve always been like this—I cause trouble, he cleans it up. As long as he’s with me, I’m not afraid of anything.”
I couldn’t be bothered with Rachel. After delivering my gift and signing the guestbook, I prepared to leave.
Rachel suddenly called out to me, pulling an invitation from her purse: “Sabrina, I forgot to tell you, Xavier and I are getting married in October. We hope you can come to our wedding.”
Xavier frowned slightly, glancing at her.
Surprisingly, I stopped and accepted the pink invitation with a smile.
I even chatted casually with Rachel: “You’ve kept it so secret. I hadn’t heard anything about your wedding plans. Unlike when Xavier and I got married— he insisted on livestreaming the whole thing, desperate for the entire world to know we were married. It looked glamorous on the surface, but was actually quite annoying.”
Seeing Rachel’s face darken, I turned and tossed the invitation into the trash.
I laughed coldly to myself: “Xavier, Rachel, this wedding will definitely be

unforgettable for both of you.”
