Chapter 13
Chapter 13
1/1
I woke up and found myself in a hospital.
There, an officer was standing next to me. When he noticed that I had regained consciousness, he immediately perked up and asked for a doctor.
“We’ve managed to arrest Jacob Mason and Queenie Ziegler, Ms. Anderson. Thank goodness you told us to come for you if we weren’t able to contact you within an hour.
“I can’t imagine what would’ve happened if you didn’t. By the way, how did you know where Jacob and Queenie were?” the officer asked.
Since I’d just woken up, my mouth felt extremely dry. Nevertheless, I was overjoyed when I heard what the officer said.
The truth was that I’d immediately called the police after I overheard Queenie and Jacob’s conversation back in our house. After that, the authorities sent out some personnel to keep me
safe.
They placed a tracking device on me, and if I was unreachable for an hour, they would immediately send someone to my location to rescue me. Hence, I was able to ruin Jacob’s plan even if I was locked in the room without a phone.
As for the couple’s location… Well, I’d sent Jacob an anonymous email as soon as I got home.
It read, “Do you want to know if you’re actually the baby’s father? Meet me at your usual meeting spot, and I’ll tell you. You’re being cheated on!”
Jacob was a petty man. There was no way he wouldn’t become suspicious.
After he left, I sent both Queenie and Angie a text using his name, asking them to meet him at their usual spot. When Queenie got there, she caught Jacob and Angie having an intimate,
moment.
Subsequently, the women got into a physical fight.
Concerned about the wellbeing of his unborn child, Jacob tried to stop Angie from hurting Queenie.
By the time the police arrived at the scene, Angie was horribly injured. To make matters worse, Queenie wasn’t actually pregnant. As it turned out, she’d lied to Jacob in order to get him to marry her.
Even as he was being brought to the police station, Jacob refused to admit to his wrongdoings. He was still putting on an act when he discovered that I wasn’t dead.
“I wasn’t trying to kill her,” he argued. “She just fell asleep after we had some barbecue. I don’t know anything! I was just charmed by some beautiful women, that’s all!” However, after I showed them the surveillance footage, Jacob and Queenie finally gave up.
