Chapter 19
The hostess remembered the village leader saying they were here to experience life, and seeing the sincerity in Lucy and the others‘ expressions, she didn’t insist and led them to the kitchen.
“Do you know how to cook noodles?” Lucy asked the three others.
They all felt a bit embarrassed:” No.”
They could only cook instant noodles..
But if they left everything to Lucy, it might not look good to the audience.
all pick your tasks, and I’ll
“No worries, we can divide up the tasks,” Lucy said. “Three jobs washing the bok choy, boiling the water, and frying an egg. You all handle the seasoning for the noodles.”
She didn’t take on everything herself but delegated tasks.
This way, it wouldn’t seem like she was doing all the work, which would leave a bad impression of the others; it also ensured that her teammates wouldn’t become overly reliant on her. Plus, with everyone doing something. It was a very reasonable arrangement.
Hearing this, the three sighed in relief and liked her even more.
Demi was the first to speak, Tll fry the egg”
1 boil the water,” Parker said.
“Then I’ll wash the bok choy.”
Each of the four set to work, and the kitchen became lively
While maxing the seasonings, Lucy also kept an eye on the others work
For example, she taught Mel how to wash the vegetables more thoroughly.
She showed Parker how much water to use and when to add the noodles
And she taught Demi how to fry a crispy, soft–centered egg.
By the time Demi had finished frying the egg. Lucy had finished mixing the seasonings, and the noodles and bok choy had been cooked.
Lucy scooped the noodles and bok choy into bowls, added the fried egg, and drizzled on the soul–soothing sauce.
A bowl of steaming, visually appealing noodles was ready, making everyone’s mouth water
Parker quickly took out his phone to take pictures, and only after that did they bring the noodles out.
After muing and taking a bite, Parker and the others‘ eyes lit up: “Delicious!
Without saying much more, they began eating enthusiastically.
Lucy smiled softly, unsurprised.
In another life, she had been called a culinary god. Even though it was just a bowl of simple noodle soup, with the perfect control of the heat and the right seasoning, the flavor was divine.
As people watched them eat, the live–stream chat was flooded with comments
I usually skip breakfast, but now I’m starving just watching this.]
No joke, I just finished some buns, and I’m ordering noodle soup delivery now.]
Amazing! My Parker can actually cook noodles now! Mom’s crying with joy!]
Hold up, you’re celebrating too soon. All Parker did was boil the water…]
Hahaha, it’s the effort that counts, it’s the effort that counts]
Did anyone else notice Mel only washed the veggies once and then got scolded by Lucy for it?
[Hahaha, I saw that! So funny! It’s rare to see Mel get told off for being sloppy
Lucy’s way of teaching Demi to fry an egg is fantastic. I just tried it myself, and wow, it’s so good I’m crying“]
Their way of eating doesn’t resemble celebrities watching their diet at all; more like starving wolves that haven’t eaten for three days!
This proves that the noodles are truly delicious, unlike last night when some movie star and a certain Leo kept praising them but didn’t really eat much)
[Do you think Leo had Lucy cook last night because he knew she was good in the kitchen?
I suspect they knew each other before, and their relationship isn’t shallow! There must be some big gossip behind this)
[Could it be true, like the rumors online, i Lucy has been relentlessly clinging to Leo und Mr. Bailey like a parasite?)
i don’t think so. From what I see, Miss Lucy is really trying to distance herself from them. It’s nothing like the fans claim, where she’s playing hard to get
I think she’s great. She doesn’t hog the spotlight, doesn’t act up, and she’s graceful, considerate, and open–hearted–nothing like what’s said about her
online]
I agree. Most of the hate she gets online probably comes from fans of the Green family siblings and Mr. Bailey. These brain–dead fans are truly maddening |
Running two live streams at once… I really feel for Sasha from the other team.]
Same here. During the entire stream, a certain Leo and a certain movie star revolved around a certain fairy, while Sasha was practically invisible]
Not to mention, the so–called fairy kept insisting on cooking and repeatedly refused Sasha’s help. Poor Sasha couldn’t even get a shot |
It’s a four–person team, but she’s always ignored, as if she doesn’t even have a name. I feel so embarrassed for her.]
This fairy might not be that “fairy–like” after all–she’s s quite the expert at stirring up competition among women.]
On Lucy’s stream, fans of the four–person group and casual viewers alike disliked Gracie
Meanwhile, in the Green family siblings‘ stream, Sasha’s fans were also unhappy with how Gracie constantly stole the spotlight.
Cohen’s wife–fans and girlfriend–fans were especially unhappy with how attentive and chivalrous he was toward Gracie, making them loathe her even more
At one point, Gracie’s fans found themselves struggling to control the comments.
After Parker and the others finished their noodles, they even drank all the broth,
Then, Parker snapped a photo and shared it in the group chat with all eight guests, along with the earlier picture of the noodles fresh out of the pot.
Parker: Such a delicious breakfast, infinite stars!
Parker: We even drank all the soup, still not satisfied.
After sending that, he @Leo: What did you guys have for breakfast? Snap a picture for us!
Meanwhile, Ashley and the others were rejected once again, walking out in frustration when they suddenly heard their phones ping.
The four of them opened their phones and saw the message:….
Could Parker be any more human?
They were still hungry!
They hadn’t felt that hungry, but after seeing the photo, their stomachs were practically growling.
They could really strangle Parker!
Ashley, face darkening, sent a meme that said “Please get lost.”
It was obvious that his sister had cooked that breakfast, and that bastard Parker was acting smug after benefiting from it!
Parker replied with a cutesy “Hehe” emoji, enraging Ashley further.
As they were exchanging meme jabs, the cameraman zoomed in on their phone screens.
As a result, the live chat started exploding again.
Haha, our Mr. Carter is at it again–being anything but human]
He’s so bad, but I love him! Mom, I want to marry him!]
Leo’s fists are clenched. They’re clenched! Haha!
Can a meme war really solve this? Just fight it out already! Let’s go
I absolutely love Parker. He’s shamelessly showing off, so cheeky!
Meanwhile, in the other live stream:
Parker is so awful! That’s
‘s too much)
Look at how smug he is, like a petty man getting his way!
[Poor Leo and the others. Not only are they hungry, but they have to put up with this. My heart aches for them!
Parker, could you not be such a jerk?)
Lucy and her team also laughed when they saw the group chat.
Demi and Mel silently gave Parker a thumbs–up. No wonder he’s known in the industry for being a sharp–tongued, ruthless young master–he infuriates people to death without remorse.
Honestly, it felt incredibly satisfying–hahaha!
Even Lucy couldn’t hold back her laughter, imagining how furious Ashley and the others must be.
She turned to Parker and said, “Well done!”
Parker smirked slyly, “You flatter me.”
After breakfast, Lucy and the others went with Nick to Peach Garden.
