The police came and collected fingerprints. I gave them the security footage and the
video of Lily calling Jeff.
Lily knelt in front of Richard and Susan. “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I won’t do it again.” Richard and Susan said, “We raised you. We gave you everything, but you stabbed us in the back. We’re so disappointed.”
The police were about to take Lily away, but
Mark asked his parents to change their
minds. “Let’s handle this ourselves. If Lily gets
arrested, it’ll hurt the company.”
Richard looked at me. “What do you think?”
I said, “Take back Lily’s 10% stake in the
company. That’ll be her punishment.”
When Richard offered me stock, I found out
that 49% of Richard Enterprises‘ stock

belonged to other members of the board.
Richard and Susan owned 51%. They wanted
to give me 10%, Lily 10%, Mark 15%, and keep 16% for themselves.
They hadn’t distributed the stock yet, but they
were working on it.
The company was losing money, but the
stock would still be worth a lot.
Lily looked angry. “Are you kidding me?”
Richard said, “That’s what we’ll do. I’ll call the
lawyer tomorrow and redistribute the stock.”
Lily almost fainted.
Mark caught her. My parents told the police
they would handle things themselves.
Mark glared at me. “You’re declaring war on
us, right?”
I laughed. “The war started a long time ago.”
“Fine. Just you wait,” Mark said.
