After I died, my husband treated my twin sis…
Chapter 7
William was always quick to act on his decisions.
When he promised to marry Eleanor, he meant it.
He wouldn’t keep Eleanor waiting at all.
They set their wedding date just two weeks away.
The ceremony was held at the largest hotel in the city.

This wedding was even more extravagant than when William had married me.
William seemed distracted from early in the morning.
Finally, the wedding officiant created a joyous atmosphere when the ceremony began.
Just as William and Eleanor were about to exchange rings, the officiant asked, “Does the bride take this man to be her husband?”
A sudden commotion erupted at the entrance.
The peaceful scene was shattered as everyone turned to look.
They saw several thugs standing there, sporting multi–colored hair and tattoos on their arms and chests.
They walked forwond

“When will you repay the money your wife Hannah Palmer owes us? You said one week, but it’s been almost a month!”
William denied it flatly. “Hannah is not my wife.”
The man pulled Hannah’s photo on his phone and held it before him.
“Isn’t this her?”
“Yes, that’s her, but she’s not the Hannah you’re talking about.”
These words left the debt collector completely confused.
He paused, trying to make sense of what he’d just heard.
Getting irritated, he grabbed William’s collar again.
“What the hell are you talking about? This woman in the photo is the one I’m talking about. You better pay up what she owes if she’s your wife!
“She owes me a million dollars!”
William refused to believe it, standing his ground. “That’s impossible! My wife would never borrow money from anyone!”
In William’s mind, I was always a law–abiding woman.
I would never borrow money, let alone fail to pay it back

The man slapped the IOU down in front of William.
“See this? It’s black and white, with her fingerprint on it. Still want to deny it?”

While William stood there stunned, the man pulled up a video on his phone from when Hannah had borrowed the money.
The footage clearly showed Hannah’s face.
William’s jaw dropped as he stared in disbelief.
After years of marriage, he knew me well. I wasn’t someone who would get into debt.
He finally realized that something must have happened to me.
He immediately transferred the money to the man, then quickly called
my parents.
“Has Hazel been home recently?”
“No, we haven’t seen her in a long time. William, are you two having problems?”
William’s face froze when he heard their answer.
Under my mom’s prodding, he reassured her. “It’s nothing. I was asking.”
Even if he had been naive, he knew something was wrong now.
After all this drama, the wedding had to be postponed.
