trying to help Frank.
There was motive and process, but not
enough evidence that Ashley was involved.
She had been involved in our marriage, but it
was her word against his.
Frank didn’t say anything in court.
He looked at Ashley and was disappointed.
I saw Frank’s face, remembering the dreams.
But it broke, and I knew the truth.
Before the second trial, I went to see Danny.
I put white lilies on his grave. I gently rubbed
his name on the tombstone.
He was standing in front of me and he was
planning what he would like to do at the
beach.
We bought him his swimsuit…
But my son was sleeping here.
I remembered when Frank looked at Danny
and I saw hesitation in his face.
I had seen the moment where he had the
intention to hurt my baby.
He planned the crash to take Danny’s life.

A hand placed yellow lilies next to the white
ones.
It was Frank.
His family helped him get here.
He stared at Danny’s tombstone, closed his
eyes, and a tear rolled down.
“Danny, I’m sorry.”
I laughed, “Where were you when he fell on the ground for you to help him.”
“I owe you and Danny. I can’t pay it back.”
“Leave us alone. We don’t want you here.”

I stared at the bracelet.
I snapped. “Did you have a heart?”
“Danny made it for you. He didn’t watch TV
for days!”
“He waited for you to come home. He was by
the door when you came home.”
“Did you care that you went with Ashley and
the other kid?
“You let him die!”
“How could you watch him be there and do
nothing ”

“I regret everything!”
Frank looked at me, feeling faint, and reached
out.
He wanted to hug me, but I pushed him.
I wiped my tears. “I changed his name.”
I pointed to the tombstone: “He is now Danny.
I will divorce you.”
“He is my son.”
