Finally, the weekend arrived, and Kelvis had promised to take me to a place he knew I’d love. As I stepped out of the dorm, i was surprised to find Marlaux waiting downstairs.N
His eyes lit up briefly when he saw me, but they dimmed as soon as he noticed my cold expression. I was about to walk past him when he called out, “Lashana, I’m dropping out.“N
That caught me off guard. I looked up at him, waiting for an explanation. He went on to say that the rumors swirling around campus had become unbearable, and he couldn’t stand the humiliation any longer. It made sense–Marlaux, always so proud and arrogant, had never been publicly embarrassed like this before.”
With a bitter smile, he added, “And it’s painful to keep running into you. I just wanted to say goodbye.“”
Then, after a pause, he said softly, “You’re the only girl I’ve ever truly liked.“”
I stared at him for a moment, then asked, “Are you done?“”
He swallowed hard and nodded reluctantly. Without another word, I smiled brightly and walked past him, heading straight for Kelvis, who was waiting for me under a nearby tree. As soon as I reached him, I grabbed his hand, our fingers interlocking effortlessly.N
“Let’s go, boyfriend,” I said, smiling up at him.
To my surprise, Kelvis had brought me back to our old high school. The familiar surroundings stirred up a flood of memories. We wandered until we stopped in front of an old iron gate, dusty and long overdue for repairs.”
“This is the place,” Kelvis said softly, “where you stepped in and helped me pick up my soaked homework that year.“”
I stood there, overwhelmed by nostalgia. Then, to my astonishment, Kelvis suddenly dropped to one knee, revealing a delicate, beautiful ring in his hand.N
Thrilled yet hesitant, I struggled to find the right words. “Kelvis, I like you a lot. But we haven’t been together for long, and I’m not ready for marriage yet.“N
He smiled warmly, his voice gentle. N
“I understand, and I knew you wouldn’t agree right away. I just wanted you to know that I’m serious, you’re the one I want to spend my life with.” N
“And as for your answer, I can wait. Three years, five years, ten years–however long it takes.” }

My nose tingled as I fought back tears. Kelvis lovingly patted my head and pulled me into a warm embrace.” Wrapped in his arms, I felt one thing clearly at that moment, I was the luckiest person in the world.
