Chapter 26
“Joseph owes me two million dollars. He said you’d be the payment,” said Isaac.
His eyes gleamed with greed, and his gaze was filled with aggression. He reached out, gripping Aspen’s chin as he examined her face carefully.
Shaking his head, he sneered. “A little too thin, but still not bad–looking. Two million seems like a bit of a loss.”
“No, no, please don’t do this! I can give you the money! I’ll pay the two million myself! Just don’t do this!”
Tears streamed down Aspen’s face as her voice trembled with fear. She instinctively fumbled for her phone, pressing the buttons in desperation.
Even though she had changed phones, the system settings remained the same–Colin was still listed as her emergency contact.
The call went through as it dialed automatically. It went through five times, yet each time, the screen flashed the same response no answer.
Isaac easily noticed her attempt to call for help. But when he heard the endless ringing on the other end, he only chuckled.
“Little lady, it seems like no one’s coming to save you.”
Before Aspen could even react, Isaac lost his patience. He grabbed her by the collar and slammed her onto the table.
Dishes and utensils crashed onto the floor with a loud clatter. Pain shot through her, but she didn’t have the luxury of focusing on it. She scrambled up, retreating into the corner as quickly as she could.
“Please–I beg you! Don’t do this! I have money! I swear I’ll give you the money!”
She was only wearing a button–up shirt, and the buttons had torn off in the struggle. The fabric slipped from her shoulders, exposing her delicate skin, letting the faint scent of her natural fragrance waft through the air.
The subtle aroma stirred something deep within Isaac, making his desire grow stronger. He stepped forward, grabbing her with his rough hand without hesitation
Smirking, he murmured, “Money? I already have money. Right now, I just want you!”
Before she could react, his lips crashed down on her, brutal and forceful.
“No–stop! Please! I beg you, let me go!”
Aspen gasped, struggling to breathe under his crushing weight. In the chaos, her fingers brushed against a sharp fragment of broken glass.
Gripping it tightly, she pressed the jagged edge against Isaar’s throat.
“Don’t come any closer!” Aspen’s eyes burned with desperation, and her pupils trembled like those of a cornered animal as she glared at Isaac.
Isaac, a seasoned man of the underworld, wasn’t the least bit intimidated by a mere piece of glass. Instead, interest in her deepened.
The way she trembled and resisted only fueled his desire. Lust surged through his veins.
“Come on now, don’t be like this. If you stay with me, I promise you won’t suffer. I hate women who put on an act. You’ve played hard to get long enough. Serve me well tonight, and I’ll give you whatever you want.”
Chapter 26
Isaac swatted the glass shard from her hand and pinned he gainst the table. Aspen’s body flattened against the cold surface, and her face turned toward the door.
no
The exit was right there. It was so close, yet utterly unreachable. No matter how much the struggled, she was n match for Isaac.
He yanked at her skirt without hesitation, and his other hand was already working to unbockle his belt.
“Sorry, the number you are calling is temporarily unavailage.”
On the floor, her phone continued redialing her emergency contact over and over. Yet all that came back, was the same automated response.
It was a cruel, mocking joke.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Colin stared at the repeated calls lighting up his screen. The comers of his lips curled into a disdainful smirk.
So, she was still playing games with him after all.
