Chapter 13 Changing Clothes
Nathaniel kept a stoic expression, remaining silent.

There were already several people in the living room when Rosalie arrived at the Drake family estate.
Her clothes were a bit too casual, and she was still holding the dress she planned to change into,
As soon as the Drake family members saw her, their eyes were filled with disdain.
“She’s Mrs. Drake, yet she appears so disheveled, completely devoid of elegance. No amount of effort can change what you truly are.”
The harsh words reached Rosalie’s ears, but surprisingly, Rosalie wasn’t as upset as she had imagined she’d be.
The people in the Drake family, aside from Eldon, always looked down on her, seeing her as someone beneath their circle, and naturally, they despised her,
If Eldon hadn’t always protected Rosalie, the insults would have been much worse.
Clutching the dress in her hands, Rosalie said softly, “I’ll go upstairs.”
After changing into the dress in the bathroom, Rosalie took out a lipstick and applied a layer to her pale lips.
The color instantly brightened her appearance, making her look less dull and more vibrant.
When she went downstairs, the maid told her that Nathaniel had gone to the study to meet Eldon.
She didn’t see Leonor, so she assumed it was just a ride after all, and she couldn’t be bothered to care. Rosalie took a seat on the sofa.
“That dress is pretty, but the person wearing it.
Just then, a light laugh interrupted her thoughts.
Looking up. Rosalie saw Juliet Drake walking toward her.
Juliet was 37 years old, yet still maintained a youthful appearance.
But no matter how many beauty products she used, her sharp, caustic expression couldn’t be hidden.
Rosalie gave a faint tug at the corner of her lips and said, “Juliet, it’s always people who define the clothes, not the other way around. If someone has to fit themselves to the outfit, wouldn’t it be like letting ‘Ari‘ sit at the table for dinner while you. crouch on the floor eating dog food? Completely absurd, isn’t it?”
Ari was the Drake family’s golden retriever, practically treated like another son in the family.
Juliet, clearly stung by the hidden jab, narrowed her eyes, looking at Rosalie with suspicion
Usually, Rosalie was demure, almost servile around her. The woman who always smiled and tried to please her was now answering back.
Juliet’s expression darkened, but she didn’t respond directly. Instead, she pressed on.
Juliet said, “Rosalie, you’ve been married to Nathaniel for years, gained the title of Mrs. Drake, and entered Grigow Airlines. but after all this time, you’re still just a lowly flight attendant? The Drake family isn’t that foolish.”
Everyone in the Drake family knew Rosalie joined Grigow Airlines for Nathaniel.

the true Mrs. Drake
A bitter laugh escaped Rosalie.

“Are you implying that seducing a married man is something to be proud of? If Leonor lacked boundaries, I didn’t think you’d be foolish enough to do the same
Rosalie was no longer the docile woman who let others walk all over her,
In the past, she loved Nathaniel and didn’t want him to be caught in the middle of any conflict, so she always kept quiet.
But that only encouraged their behavior.
Things were different now. If they were really going to divorce, she had nothing to lose and no reason to hold back.
She wasn’t about to let them continue
de using her as a doormat.
Across from her sat a few of Nathaniel’s relatives–Siena, Juliet, and two other aunts, Chelsea and Lilian,
The women’s faces darkened, especially Juliet, who hadn’t expected Rosalie to talk back. Juliet’s expression was one of anger.
Finally, it was Siena who stepped in to ease the tension. In her 40s, Siena was far more composed than Juliet.
She took a sip of coffee and coolly redirected the conversation.
Siena said, “Rosalie, I hear your mother’s been in the hospital for a while now. Staying in a high–end ward for years must have cost a lot. You can’t blame Juliet for speaking bluntly. After all, what have you brought to the Drake family all these years?”
Siena’s words were cutting, but she wasn’t done. “If that’s the case, you really should know your place. A woman’s job is to support her husband and raise children. You’ve been married for years and still haven’t had a child. Nathaniel’s the only heir in the family. It’s time to have children.”
