The twins paused and Lauren held her breath as they digested what he just said.
This is it. They’re going to know now! She thought to herself before Dablu tilted her head and looked at her.
“You were an Alpha, Mommy?” Relief washed over her at her daughter’s question. But she knew the inevitable would come soon.
Lauren smiled at her children as Damon also looked at her curiously.

Lauren just leaned on the kitchen island and smiled at her son. Memories from her past about how sad she was when she realized her wolf was too wrak to manifest came back to her. She remembered how her parents hid their disappointment just so she wouldn’t cry even more. They continued telling her how bright and strong she was, just so she wouldn’t be discouraged.
No one ever dared talking to her about that. She expected some type of bullying in school when she never shifted, but she realized Declan threatened everyone who would dare even mention that to her. She just knew about it when Yuan told her what Declan did.
Those were good times. But now just bittersweet memories of what they used to be
