Before anyone could say anything more, Lauren had already sped through the grounds, towards the woods where the nearby pond was. She knew there was something wrong. But it can’t be. It can’t be with her children. She can’t lose them. She will lose it this time.
“Damon Dahlia?” She screamed, passing by some people. And what she heard among them just made her panic increase even more. Reports about an attack on the borders had circulated in the pack.
She wanted to believe they were all just mere rumors. Since Declan’s arrival, the news about the Vampires had also flared amongst the pack people. The scare of it had been there, but not to this extent. There were always doubts hanging in the air because they’ve never encountered one.
But not this time. And Lauren hated it. She hated how her gut was alses basically confirming everything she’s heard. She’d rather have them think the new training is unnecessary. Just not this.

The horror in Lauren’s eyes snapped at him. He couldn’t feel whatever Lauren was feeling that confirmed her suspicions of the Vampires‘ presence. But he chose to believe her.

Since the Black Ridges Pack had come, half of the responsibilities of guarding were with them, so Fred could only connect with his packmates, not all of the guards around the vicinity.
Lauren couldn’t stay still on her feet as she waited for Fred to hear back from any of them. But as soon as she saw the frown on the Beta’s brows, she squickly ran back towards her original destination. The pond. She knew he hadn’t heard from anyone.
