Glory watched, stunned at the sight
Lauren blinked and those blood red eyes went to her.
For a moment, Glory was filled with dread upon the sight of her red eyes, forgetting that this was Lauren, not the vampire that once attacked her in her home in the West. But when Lauren blinked, those sharps, red eyes turned worried, then detached
Lauren looked different
“Lauren!” She called, seeing that the latter seemed to have forgotten where she was at least that’s how she saw it.
But Lauren suddenly raised her hands and watched them, as if seeing it for the first time. Her brows knitted.

“My dear” she was about to touch Lauren again, but as if taken over by a wave, her eyes rolled at the back of her head and she fell unconscious

Glory sat, frozen and stunned with whatever she had witnessed.

Glory, after a couple of seconds, finally went back to her senses. She sat up from the couch and stared straight at the unconscious- of Lauren Her breathing had become even once again, her mouth closed and her eyes were unmoving at the back of her lids.
“Lauren?” She called, debating whether to touch her or not. She was afraid she might wake up with those blood red eyes again
But Lauren didn’t wake.
“Lauren, my dear!” She tried again, this time, tapping her cheek. She expected to feel the same cold temperature on her skin, but she was suddenly hot to the touch. Glory was seeing sweat fonning on her forehead.
Finally, after what felt like waiting for hour, Lauren stirred, moving around.
“Glory!”
Lauren saw the weird emotion on the healer’s face. She looked older with a few streaks of white hair in her blonde head.
Lauren touched her head, forcing her lids to close again as a giant headache buddenly came over her along with her wolf feeling restless inside. She couldn’t make do what her wolf was saying. She was pacing a lot too.
“Glory” What happened?” She looked at the bealer and saw the same emotion on her face.
A mixture of worry and horror
“Ind something bad happen! My son.” she immediately turned to Damon, but saw him on the same bed with Dahlia sleeping beside him. She tucked them in earlier after they ate lunch. She felt the same headache earlier, and something oild around her muscles. She wasn’t planning to sleep but she couldn’t help but dove off.
“No.” Glory shook her head, the look of horror on her face leaving, but worry was still in il

She could vaguely hear some voices that she has never heard before from fluose attacks. She dulici know whether they were there in the hot pla or not. She just knew she was afrakt of it
“Alpha Declan’s here.”
“Good afternoon. Alpha.”
Lauren, still with a hand on her head, looked over the side when a couple of girls and some guys bowed their heads slightly in greeting.
She turned to look at the back and saw Declan, indeed walking towards diem. But someone caught up to him, holding some sheets of looked serious–the usual cold and stem face he had, and his presence was engulfing the place,

Lauren knew they were from different packs before. She didn’t recognize their faces —not even familiar. But she knew they w way because they have barely any encounters with their new Alplus.
Alphas usually have intimidating auras. But since wolves are social beings, packs are usually tight–knit, and that would make the Alpha less unapproachable to them.
Just like Jasper. He may be strung and intimidating—the strongest Alphia in the South, but his people are not afraid to approach him, nor act like he was some kind of celebrity or king. They see him as an older brother, their strongest son, or their protective father. A person that could protect and provide for them.

In hindsight, he truly saved them. But she just wasn’t used to how seemingly celebrated Declan had become slace she left. Declan was just another Alpha to her. At least the friend she grew up with.

Lauren looked away from all of them and ignored another group who greeted Declan as they walked. He was like a royalty with the way they were treating him. So far from the way the Rocky Mountains Pack people were treating him.
Filled with her thoughts, Lauren continued walking towards the infirmary with a small backpack on her shoulder. She got some clothes inside the bag that she was keeping. She didn’t know where the rest of their things were.
She had an idea, though. But she didn’t want to go there. Not when some of her most hurtful memories were in that house. She didn’t have time ti
reminisce.
People continued greeting and talking to Declan. She could vaguely hear them as she walked by. But she tuned them out as those weird noises. coming from her wolf assaulted her again.
“What do you want?” She mumbled to her wolf, but as usual, she just kept on paring. Lauren no longer knew what her wolf wanted, but she felt like her woll was gaining much more space in her mind. And that was what’s making all these headaches.
Lauren went on walking, but her head spun once again and she lou balance.
She grimaced at the impact on her butt and the cut she felt on her palms at slammed on the pebbles on the ground.
“Mis! Are you okay?”
Some people immediately warned her, and Lauren tried standing up. Hut her spinning head persisted. She could barely feel herself. She suddenly felt cold

Lauren’s head continued pounding as she tried to make sense of the words those people were saying.

“Yes, only the chosen ones.” Lauren hadn’t realized she said those out loud.
The girl took a step towards her. She knew the woman was trying to intimidate her with the way she was crossing her arms on her chest.
“Get up, and don’t let the Alpha see you like that. Or else, he may bring you back to your sorry excuse of a pack”
“What?”
“What is going on here?” Declan’s deep voice suddenly rang amidst their group. Lauren was still trying to process everything that had taken place. when she felt arms circling around her waist, carrying her up.
“Lauren? What happened! Are you okay?”
The people crowding over her suddenly took a step back upon seeing the concern on their Alpha’s face. It was a rare sight seeing Alpha Derlan show some kind of gentleness and emotions that are not cold or stoic,
Lauren felt awkward when the realized what was happening. The faces of the people who talked to her quickly changed. They looked shocked.
Lauren looked down, but she suddenly saw the very familiar white gold ring that Declan was wearing. She knew no one knew about their marriage except for some people. But she felt herself getting red

“Are you okay? Tell me what’s going on” Lauren felt like she was burned when he suddenly touched her check in front of them He looked like he wasn’t even realizing they weren’t alone. He looked so concerneil.
He started tapping out the grass and dirt that clung to her back when she fell down.
