Chapter 41
“What other information do you know about this Blood Creature?” Declan asked Alpha Gilmore after the brief silence that occupied them at the information they just heard.
“Sanguis Creatura, that’s the original term used, which is directly translated as Blood Creature. They are very rare in nature since not every werewolf or vampire can conceive such a being. Vampires hundly reproduce through birth. And what I know from the books I’ve read about them is that Vampires have been trying to breed such beings for centuries. Since they could never outnumber werewolves and can never be stronger, they ought to create another being that could help them. This creature has always been weaponized against whoever got to them first,”
Silence once again dominated the entire room. For most Alphas, everything that Declan had been telling them were mostly theoretical. They have never encountered a Vampire in their lands before. And to hear such creatures wreck havoc amongst packs in the other lands was just like a tragedy in some other world–their, not included
But to hear an old Alpha, such as Alpha Gilmore, have some information that are stored in their decades old park, was awakening them and bursting their bubble of being far from the dangers that Declan and Yuan were warning them about.
Everyone listened intently, Jasper being one of the most
stattentive. He may be deemed as the strongest among them four, but they always respected Alpha Gilmore for his wisdom and knowledge of the older days of the werewolf community.
“Where do we find —
“Wait,” Declan suddenly raised a hand towards Jasper who was about to ask something when his wolf stopped along with his ear catching some sounds from outside.
All the Alphas and Retas turned to him. Declan focused on the sound, and he caught a very subtle whiff of that familiar death stench.
It was very vague and subde. But after years of encountering and tracing them, he was sure
“Vampires are here.” he announced:
Jasper and Yuan gaped at him. The rest of the Alphas continued staring as if they didn’t hear what he said. Or, they hadn’t realized the magnitude of
the information.
“But it’s still daylight. How can they attack!” As if answering Yuan’s question, rain poured heavily outside, creating a loud noise around the house.
“They must have known we were gathering together here. Just as I said, they target Alphas.”
“They need us to be gone first, before they go to our packs. Alpha Kent mumbled to himself, but loud enough for all of them to hear. He nodded slowly as if understanding nHOW.
“Or, they need something from us.” Declan added as he stood from his seat,
“We can’t wait for an attack here. We will be surrounded, if we aren’t already”
“How sure are you they’re here! I can’t even smell anything except all of you, the furniture and the rain outside” Alpha Wallace, reluctant as ever. asked. But they could see he wasn’t just asking to spite them this time. It’s because he really couldn’t track the smell of the vampires
Declar, turned to Jasper. “Can you smell them?”
He nodded slowly. “Yes, now that you’ve mentioned, I caught a whiff of it before die rain started“,
Declan nodded and looked at the three other Alphas looking at them. “You still can’t distinguish their smell since you’ve never encountered one before. But we have, and now that Alphas Jasper also lus, he could distinguish their smell. It is very subile, but it’s distinct.”
“Almost ashy, and smokey. Heavy, but barely there.“ Jasper added,
“The death sinch. That’s what it is” Yuan nodded.
“Now, gri up and let’s face—”
“What?!” Alpha Wallace suddenly exclaimed, cuning Declan off. They realized he must be mindlinking with someone when his eyes were just
“How? No one passes by the beach side! How many! Eight already! Have all the guards cover the borders. I’ll be back as soon as possible”
“Alpha Wallace.” Declan grabbed his shoulder, sering how panicked the oldest Alpha had gotten.
Their eyes met and he saw how worried he was. “Eight of my packmates were found dead by the beach borders. They said they didn’t know who did it but there was a distion bite on their bodies and silver sheet from their wounds.”
“Vennan.” Declan mumbled, his eyes widening

“Alpha Declan, what am I going to do? My people.” Alpha Wallace’s hard demeanour had turned into panic as he felt the magnitude of what was happening
“Calm down, Alpha Wallace. We’ve already prepared for this” The oldest Alpha looked hopefully at him as he nodded at Yuan and Jasper.
Declan couldn’t say he anticipated an attack to happen today, but he always had a back up plan whenever there was an opportunity for the enemies
to attack
“My soldiers along with some of yours are now speeding towards Crystal Seas Pack, Alpha Declan.” Jasper reported as soon as he finished mindlinking his troops. They already had guards near the packs, so when something like this happens, they’d immediately go.
“Oh. goddess.” Alpha Wallace exclaimed, still clearly in panic. He moved away from Declan’s hold and started walking outside.
“I have to go now. Those vampires will see know who they’re up against-
“Alpha Wallace, stop!” Declan screamed but it was too late..
As soon as the Alpha took a foot out of the house, a flash ran by him. Aloud scream pierced through their ears, and just in a split second, blood had been scattered around the doorway of what once was a safe place for Alphas to gather together.
They all watched in horror as the Alpha’s foot was amputated. And before any of them could move, the wind that had passed through suddenly stopped, and a grinning face of a red–eyed man smirked at them, dripping wet with the rain pouring down on his body.
“Nice to see you, Alphas.” It was the last thing they heard before chaos erupted.
