Chapter 64
But it quickly went away.
But it was
it was more
than enough to make Lauren gape. Ii just basically confirmed that she was truly in the woods prior to this investigating group.
A confirmation that she really saw it. That she wasn’t just becoming crazy and hallucinating. She had a vision.
It gave Lauren the courage to continue with her claims.
came here for my children. I was looking for them.”
“Dahlia and Damon Declan interjected. Worry was visible in his face, but not as much as she had expected
Didn’t he care? He just knew that vampires had come inside the pack, and that small frown was his only reaction!
what
happened to them?” He asked.
Lauren thought of a way to answer him without sounding crazy, when Vivienne suddenly spoke.
“They were juu playing with a
with a kite. Damon tried running for the kite that’s why they found themselves inside the woods. I had to lead them out because it’s dangerous here.”
“You were the one who led them?” Lauren gaped. Her eyes widened a bit. The thoughts she had of her had just crumbled.
“But you were. Lauren mumbled in surprise.
“I was here earlier, Vivienne met her wide eyes. “But because I saw pack children coming in and I wanted to keep them safe. Not the insinuation you just made that I was the traitor.“ Vivienne.confidently stated.
Lauren just continued gaping. Her mind was at the feeling she got when she saw her twins being led by someone a dangerous entity.
“Hadn’t you seen Damon and Dahlia get to the common playground?” She turned to Declan when he asked, and it made sense to her why he didn’t look as worried as she wanted him to be.
“I was away” she mumbled and exhaled a breath. Lauren looked down and the coldness that she had been feeling in her body had disupated. Knowing that her children were safe immediately cut off her nerves. It also seemed like there were no vampires nearby anymore.
“And where exactly were you”
“Are they safe? Are they okay? Lauren asked Declan instead of answering Vivienne’s probing questions.
She knew Vivienne had a reason to doubt her. Even she, herself, would question anyone that they’d see here after that invasion.
But she was innocent. She wain’t the one who gave those vampires access to get inside Black Ridges Pack.
Nonetheless, her children was her priority. Slur would to gladly face anything for them.
Declan nodded. “They have been playing with some other kids in the playground since earlier. I had them meet the Alphas I was with for the choosing of kings”
Both gladness and some type of drop in her stomach resonated with her upon that news. She was relieved that her children were okay, but the fact that Vivienne was the one who guided them out today-
Another group suddenly came, which was led by the Main Guard, Jerome. He steered towards their groups, seeing their Alpha “Alpha Declan th
Derlan, there has been no sightings and traces of the vampiers anymore. But we will continue searching through the woods”
“They’re not here anymore Lauren wanted to say that so bailly. She was just afraid that they’ll question why she knew that, when in fact, she wasn’t sure why slar knew that herself.
But she was sure that none of those vampires were in their vicinity anymore. She could feel it. There was nothing coll, except for the wands of the northern lands, there that would help them trace the vampires.
But what were they doing here!
Lauren was about to ask that when Jerome tumed to her. The Main Guard looked surprised, as many of the guards that were with him.
“Lauren! Why are you here?” He asked.
“I’ve been asking the same question. Vivienne quickly added which created the animosity towards her again.
“Like I said. I am not the traitor-

“We can’t just take your word for it can we!”
Lauren looked at the latter with frustration in her face. She was getting annoyed at the situation.
“You can’t even tell us where you were that you didn’t know the whereabout of your own children. What kind of mother are you?”
“How dare you question–Lauren took a quick angry step towards Vivienne when her temper just broke in a snap with that last sentence. Lauren’s bood suddenly went from cold to hot.
But Declan held her arm, making her glare turn to him.
“Let’s all go back and discuss this in the packhouse”
“You believe her!” She asked, frustration and anger dripping in her tone. But without even hesitating, Declan shook his head, allowing all of his people to see.
“No. But I want all of us to go back to safety.” Lauren noticed how Declan kept on checking her body as if he knew she just went through some crazy sensations in her body earlier.
“And I want to know what happened to you.”
Lauren quickly felt seen and understood upon her mate’s presence. She took a step back instinctively, her balled fists relaxed and her mind getting calmer by the second.
She could already feel her temper losing as Vivienne insinuated things about her.
“Let’s go.”
Everyone started moving upon Declan’s command. Lauren followed them and in no time, they y were all back to the packhouse where Yuan and another group of soldiers were waiting for them.
Yuan was quick to come to her as soon as they saw them
“Decian instructed me through mindlink to escort you inside,” he said even without Lauren asking. She just felt warmer for the latter, her wolf very much delighted for the care they were receiving
“But what happened? Where have you been? I also heard about the commotion that happened with the Council.”
They all stepped inside the large packhouse that could house a hundred people inside.
Lauren sighed, remembering how she had dismissed a Councilman earlier.
“They didn’t know I was living in the packhouse.” Yuan nodded slowly, getting it.
“Where’s my children? Are they still in the playground?” She asked.
But before Yuan could answer, a woman who had dirty blonde locks approached them. Something about her felt familiar.
“I’m so sorry for what happened. I am Sarah, Glory’s daughter. I was the one who gave the twins the kite. I didn’t anticipate the danger that the children would face if I gave them the toy.”
“Oh,” Lauren, reacted, seeing the healer’s daughter for the first time.
She had a gentleness around her just like her mother, but she had her own presence. She felt big and free spirited. Lauren could already envision her wolf running around the pack, just like an adventurous pup.
“Sarah!” Vivienne suddenly called Lauren turned to her and saw how shock was so clear in her face that it made Lauren’s brain tickle once again.
And her intrigue just increased when a small smile appeared on Sarah’s mouth upon turning at the latter.
“Viv. I see you’re still the same.” she smiled, a phantom air suddenly surrounded her.
