Chapter 79
With my hands clasped behind my back, I stood by the window, gazing out at the bustling metropolis in the distance.
Although it was already 3:00 am, the streets were still filled with traffic, and the skyscrapers across the way were brightly lit.
How many people were lying awake tonight, unable to sleep?
My family, how many more peaceful nights could you enjoy? I would wait and see.
Shane had only slept a few hours. He woke up when the first ray of sunlight fell across his face in the early morning.
He opened the wardrobe to pick out his clothes for the day.
Out of habit, he reached for a light–colored outfit, but for some reason, he hesitated. Ultimately, he chose a dark suit instead.
Pushing open the door, he walked out with firm steps.
The first thing he did was contact his personal assistant. “Throw everything in there away.
Jeremy Stoke, his personal assistant, hesitated. He had been working in this role for several years and was well aware of the changes in the suite over time.
“But those things belong to Ms. Schultz. If she comes back and doesn’t see them, she’ll definitely be upset.”
Everyone knew how important Amber was to Shane, especially considering her well–known
heart condition.
Every time Amber came by, people treated her as if she were a revered ancestor.
If, by any chance, she was provoked and her heart condition acted up, who could bear the responsibility?
Jeremy’s cautious tone of inquiry only triggered Shena’s displeasure.
With a loud bang, he slammed the coffee cup in his hand onto the table.
“She’s my sister, not my wife. Does it make sense for her belongings to be in
my bedroom?”
“No, no, it doesn’t.” Jeremy quickly nodded and bowed, hurriedly cleaning up the spilled coffee.
I couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pity for him.
Clearly, Shane himself permitted all of this. How could Amber have dared to go this far without his tacit approval?

And now, he turned things around and blamed others. Where did he get the audacity?
Jeremy, needing this job to make a living, naturally wouldn’t dare speak the truth.
After cleaning up the mess, Jeremy went into the suite and saw a pile of items Shane had thrown on the ground.
From personal care products to clothing, there was a bit of everything. Unsure of the instruction, he asked again, “Mr. Lundberg, do you want me to throw all of this away?”
Shane gritted his teeth and responded, “All of it!
“Understood.”
“Wait,” Shane interrupted. “After you toss out this garbage, put Mrs. Lundberg’s things back where they belong.”
Jeremy’s expression flickered with unease. “This… Mr. Lundberg…”
“What?”
“The photo frames of you and Mrs. Lundberg were smashed by Ms. Schultz before. I originally planned to save the pictures, but she said it wasn’t necessary since there were many others. She told me to throw them away.
“And as for Mrs. Lundberg’s clothes, Ms. Schlets also said they were outdated and had me get rid of all of them.”
Shane’s expression turned into one of rage. “How dare you?”
