Chapter 13
Felix followed Larry, his eyes cold with disapproval.
“Larry, do you really understand what you’re doing?”
Larry snickered, “It’s not like this is my first time. You just don’t know because you’ve been overseas.
Hearing this, Felix completely gave up trying to stop him.
He watched as Larry led the nightclub woman to get a room, then stood silently at the street corner lighting a cigarette.
He smoked two cigarettes but never saw Larry emerge with any sign of regret.
He sent Aria a message.
[Felix]: Get the divorce.
The hotel curtains hadn’t been drawn the night before. Larry, drunk and agitated by the situation with Aria, had been somewhat
wild, pressing the woman against the cold floor–to–ceiling windows.
She was also quite adventurous, submitting to his demands with enthusiasm. Larry was quite satisfied.
Early in the morning, he woke up still basking in pleasure, not wanting to get up.
Sunlight was already streaming through the windows.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance, then rolled over to face the woman in bed.
Her eyes were red and swollen, her body covered with marks he had left. Looking at her now, beautiful and seductive, he found he
quite liked her.
But this liking was purely physical and carnal, without any genuine emotion. Simply put, she was just a plaything for his
enjoyment.
The woman seemed to notice he was awake and began teasing his leg with her foot under the covers.
Larry, his desire ignited so early in the morning, pinned her down for another round.
Only after the woman was left breathless and limp did he finally get out of bed to shower.
After cleaning up and getting dressed, Larry signed a check and handed it to her.
“Last night was consensual. Take this money and buy yourself something nice.”
He was genuinely generous–the check was for $500,000, showing how pleased he was with her.

Half a million for one night–an unimaginably high price.

The woman lowered her head, her eyes flickering. In that moment, Larry pried open her mouth and forced her to swallow a pill.
She choked and coughed, eventually realizing it was a morning–after pill.
Last night, she had heard this rich man’s friend mention another woman, so he must be a wealthy married man.
So what if he was married? She didn’t care about that.
If possible, she thought about replacing his wife, or if that wasn’t possible, convincing him to have a child with her. That way, she
could remain tied to him for life.
Darkness flashed in the woman’s eyes, but she smiled sweetly as she coaxed him into exchanging contact information.
After Larry left, the woman rushed to the bathroom and began forcing herself to vomit.
Larry left the hotel feeling energized. When he arrived at the office, he received a call from his mother.
“Larry, today is your wedding anniversary with Aria. You’ve been causing too much trouble lately. You must make proper preparations today.”
Larry didn’t listen to any of his mother’s subsequent advice about how women are emotional and like to be coddled.
He felt guilty.
Today was his wedding anniversary with Aria, yet he had woken up in another woman’s bed.
For once, he felt some remorse toward Aria.
“Mom, I understand. I’ll prepare properly.”
Larry cleared his throat and hung up, then messaged his secretary to book a restaurant, prepare fireworks and drones, and
specifically instructed them to buy a gift.
After making all the arrangements, Larry pulled out his phone to call Aria, but at that moment, there was a knock on his office
door.
Larry put his phone away.
His secretary opened the door and announced, “Mr. Spencer, Miss Landon is here.”
Lucy?
Larry actually didn’t want to see Lucy right now. Seeing her reminded him of the incident at the gala, creating some distance
between them.
But with his secretary present, he wouldn’t disrespect Lucy.

“You may leave.”
The secretary immediately left the office.
Once the secretary was gone, Lucy was about to speak, but Larry had already turned his attention to some documents. Her eyes dimmed, but she still carefully moved to his side.
“Larry…”
She timidly tugged at his sleeve, her voice carrying a faint sob.
She knew Larry best–he responded to softness, not hardness. He liked women to be gentle and fragile, which would trigger his
protective instincts.
Just as Lucy anticipated, Larry’s heart softened at her call. His gaze held more sympathy when he looked at her.
But that didn’t mean he had forgotten about that night.
“Larry, please don’t ignore me…”
Lucy half–knelt beside his feet, resting her head on his knee, appearing delicate and helpless. Her eyes, which looked so much like
Linda’s, were filled with tears.
Larry indeed couldn’t resist.
Lucy buried her face against his knee, her voice trembling, “Larry, I was just so scared. Whenever I see you with Aria, I worry that
you’ll abandon me.
“I’m terrified. I’ve already lost my sister, and I’m afraid you’ll leave me too…”
She had mentioned Linda, who had passed away.
Larry’s eyes darkened. His hand stroked Lucy’s hair soothingly, “Lucy, don’t be afraid. I won’t abandon you.‘
Before Lucy could feel happy about this, Larry added softly, “I can give you anything you want, but today you need to behave. Today is my wedding anniversary with Aria, so you need to be sensible and well–behaved.”
His hand lifted her tear–streaked chin, a dark glint flashing in his eyes.
“Do you understand?”
He certainly cared about Lucy and felt sorry for her, but he had taken his father’s words to heart.
Compared to women, he cared more about his interests.
No matter how much he hated Aria, he wouldn’t allow rumors of discord between them to spread at such a sensitive time.
He had already contacted reporters. Tonight’s candlelit dinner, fireworks display, and drone show would all be posted online,
cultivating his image as a loving husband.

Lucy’s heart sank.
Her pupils widened, and then tears began to fall like pearls from a broken string.
“Larry, I understand everything. I won’t make things difficult for you…”
As she continued crying, she collapsed onto his knee, losing consciousness.
Larry looked annoyed, but when his hand touched her forehead, it was burning hot.
She really did have a fever this time!
Larry cursed under his breath, picked Lucy up, and rushed out of the office.
The secretaries who witnessed this exchanged glances and couldn’t help discussing it.
“Isn’t today Mr. Spencer and his wife’s wedding anniversary? And he just carried that woman out like that?”
Someone cautiously warned, “Stop talking. This isn’t something we should be discussing.”
Indeed, no one spoke further, though all the secretaries felt somewhat uneasy.
Aria knew nothing about what was happening with Larry and Lucy. When she received Archer’s call that morning, she was still
half–asleep and somewhat dazed.
Hearing the soft laughter from the person on the other end of the phone, Aria finally woke up completely.
“Awake now?”
The man’s voice was deep and sensual, sending a tingle through her ear.
Aria’s ears reddened involuntarily, her mind flashing back to last night’s embarrassing scene, her cheeks beginning to flush.
