Gideon stumbled over to the operating table, muttering, “Mabel, brother is here, open your eyes and look at your brother, don’t scare him.”
No response.
He frantically grabbed my hand, trying to give me warmth.
“Remember when you asked me if I would let you try the drug if you were going to die?”
“Brother wouldn’t, brother regrets it, Mabel is brother’s only treasure, how could I really let you die!
“Please open your eyes and look at your brother, okay?”
I watched Gideon weeping bitterly. He thought it was just a drug trial, how could it lead to death?
But he didn’t know that I had already given up.
“No, no, Mabel won’t die.”
Gideon was hysterical, holding my body and suddenly laughing.
“Mabel, don’t be afraid, brother will take you to find Mom, no one will bully you anymore.”
Ezra rushed over and punched Gideon in the face, taking me away.
“Mabel is my wife; no one can take her.”

Gideon retaliated with a punch, “You’ve already proposed to Nora, what right do you have to say Mabel is your wife?”
The two exchanged blows relentlessly.
The operating room was a mess.
“Stop it, Brother Ezra, brother, please stop fighting.”
Nora ran in from outside, startled by the scene.
But when she saw my body, a hint of uncontrollable smile flashed across her face.
Seeing Ezra and Gideon fighting fiercely, she could only desperately shout for them to stop.
But no one listened to her.
The two who used to pamper her couldn’t even see her presence at this moment.
I watched this farce feeling only annoyed, wanting to end everything here and leave as soon as possible.
Maybe in another world, I could see Mom and my baby.
Declan and Fiona rushed in upon hearing the news.
Declan stood frozen, unable to believe that the person lying on the operating table was his daughter.
Fiona glanced at Nora, a smile of triumph on her lips.
Then quickly replaced it with a pained expression, crying and apologizing to Declan for me.
Nora also masked her emotions, adopting her usual understanding demeanor, rushing to Ezra and Gideon.
“Brother Ezra, brother, stop fighting.”
“Sister is gone, but I will accompany you in the future.”
Ezra and Gideon said nothing, merely pushing Nora aside.
Nora’s face stiffened.
Before she could say anything, Ezra suddenly pushed her hard.
Nora screamed as she fell to the ground.
Ezra ignored her.
He knelt, picked up the fallen ring, and wiped it repeatedly.
Then carefully put it on me.
“Mabel, we agreed to get married, your husband will take you home.”
Watching Ezra’s pretentious deep affection, I felt nothing.
Maybe they would grieve now, but soon they’d focus all their attention on Nora again.
