Under the officiant’s guidance, Drake and Aeris exchanged vows.
Drake uttered the same vows he said to me once.
Drake, you always accused me of lying to you. But haven’t you lied to me too? Three years ago, the promises you made at our wedding were all lies, weren’t they?
As a dead woman, I couldn’t even cry anymore.

The cheers filled the hall as Drake and Aeris exchanged rings.
When we exchanged rings, Drake didn’t have the happiness that he had today on his face.
Just as the ceremony ended, Caden quickly turned and left.
“Lyra, if you hadn’t married my brother back then, maybe you wouldn’t have died. He owes you. The entire Silver Moon Pack owes you,” Caden muttered to himself.
“Look at them, cheering for Aeris. No one remembers what you did for them.”
Caden quickened his pace as he headed outside, but a voice called after him.
“Caden, wait!”
It was Drake.
Caden and I turned to see Aeris holding onto Drake’s arm.
“What’s wrong?” Aeris asked in surprise.
Drake gingerly took her hand off him. “Aeris, wait here. I need to take care of something with Caden. I’ll be back soon.”
Aeris’s expression darkened, but she quickly forced a sweet smile.
“What is it? Can’t we handle it together after the wedding?”
“No, I promise, I’ll be back soon.” Drake kissed Aeris on the forehead, then hurried toward Caden.
“I’m going to Lyra’s funeral with you. I want to see what kind of game she’s playing this time!

Caden rolled his eyes and, ignoring him, hopped into the car. But as he ignited the car’s engine, Drake slipped into the passenger seat.
The familiar scent of cedar filled the car.
It had been so long since I’d been this close to him.
Through the car window, I turned my head and saw Aeris biting her lip, her eyes filled with
rage.
All the guests around her looked utterly shocked.
