We made our way towards the counter, where Kane handed the stack of books to the smiling shopkeeper who scanned and bagged them up for us..
As the tallied up the purchase, I couldn’t help but glance at the titles and feel a surge of excitement about diving in to read them… this day was seeming get a little better already!
The bell above the door chimed as we left the bookstore, and Kane opted to carry the bag containing my newfound treasures for me. The town’s charm. continued to unfold as we explored more little shops as Kane insisted that I buy anything I want which I of course didn’t want to do since he had just paid for my new books.
