When he turned around, his face was pale, and his strong hands suddenly gripped her throat.
His normally gentle eyes now looked terrifying, making Freya tremble involuntarily.
Colton said, “If Aria dies, you’re a murderer.”
Before his words even finished, before Freya could even process them, she was overwhelmed by the suffocating sensation.
Her hot tears fell onto Colton’s hands. He withdrew his hand as if electrocuted, and Freya collapsed to the floor, gasping for air.
Colton ignored her, slammed the door, and stumbled to his car, flooring the accelerator.
He cursed continuously along the way, without slowing down at all.
Suddenly, Colton’s car narrowly missed a vehicle blocked by a

The other driver shouted, “Are you crazy? How are you driving?”
Colton’s head hit hard, blood streaming down his forehead. His sports car was nearly totaled, but he still drove home desperately.
He asked the servants, “Why wasn’t Aria home last night? Where is she? Didn’t anyone follow her?”

The servant replied, “She went to the city hospital. We thought you knew. Mrs. Fields was in the emergency room last night, then forcibly checked herself out, and never returned.”
Emergency? Discharged?
Colton’s fingers trembled slightly, clenched tightly, and he punched the wall.
While he was helping search for the crashed plane, Aria’s hospital records were retrieved, including her leg CT.
Seeing the diagnosis of her comminuted fracture, Colton recalled her barely audible sobbing.
He finally understood that she wasn’t just speaking out of jealousy, but from true despair.
Chapter 4 The Depths of Colton’s Regret Initially, he had made her give up dancing and stay home to fulfill Freya’s childhood dream.
But after achieving that wish, he began to regret it.
He couldn’t understand why Aria had to leave. He had been ready to spend the rest of his life making it up to her.

Now, he frantically searched for traces Aria had left behind. He felt she couldn’t bear to leave him.
In the bedroom, he found her wedding ring, which should have been on her finger, quietly lying in a drawer.
Besides that, everything had been cleared out, even their photos together were gone, as if she had never existed.Colton had grown accustomed to having Aria by his side, but he had always neglected her. It wasn’t until several days after she left that he realized she was truly gone. Now, he began to feel deep regret. His composure completely collapsed in this moment and finally, tears of remorse streamed down his face. He hurriedly wiped away the tears spilling from his eyes. Of all things, it had to be that plane that destroyed their entire future together.Colton collapsed helplessly onto the sofa, taking a long time to regain his composure.
Soon after, he went out again, heading straight for the wreckage of the plane crash.
He thought, “As long as the search and rescue continues, there’s still hope that Aria is alive.”

He spared no expense to maintain the search efforts, begging officials not to give up.
Colton’s men searched for Aria’s whereabouts day and night, and he himself stayed with the rescue team for a full three months.
As more and more remains were discovered, hope gradually faded for everyone.

Previously, the crash site had been bustling with people, with discussions flooding the internet.
Now the public interest had waned, and even the victims‘ families who had persisted in the search were fewer and fewer, reluctantly accepting reality.
Everyone urged Colton to give up; some even insinuated that he didn’t really love Aria, comments he angrily denied.
During the long nights of those six months, every time he woke from his dreams, his face would be covered in tears.
He had unknowingly fallen in love with Aria long ago, it seemed everything was too late.
