Chapter 14 The Clumsy Imitator
Flora peeked out, her eyes sparkling with excitement after hearing Sam’s words. She was super pumped about going out to have some fun!
“Mom! Let’s go! I wanna watch a movie too. It’s been ages since we all went together!” Flora’s plea was even more irresistible than Sam’s.
Tiffany smiled, full of affection, and gave her kids‘ cheeks a gentle pinch. “Alright, but you gotta wash up and change first, okay?”
“We’ll be quick, Mom!” The two adorable kids chimed in unison and dashed back to their rooms to get ready.
As soon as Sam got to his room, he quickly texted Bafry: [Mom’s convinced. Leaving now!]
Barry had also been up early, sipping on a bowl of bone broth under Damon’s watchful eye.
Damon was surprised Barry finished it so fast. Just a few days ago, no matter how much he coaxed, Barry wouldn’t touch it, saying it was too bland and he wasn’t used to it, which made Damon pretty anxious.
After Damon left with the bowl, Barry replied to Sam’s message. Then, he hurried downstairs and gently knocked on Leon’s study door.
“Dad, can I come in?” Barry asked softly.
“What’s up?” Leon opened the door himself. Seeing Barry’s conflicted expression, he guessed Barry had something to ask.
“If you have something to say, just tell me.”
“Dad, I wanna go out,” Barry said tentatively.
But as soon as he finished, Leon’s face darkened. “No.”
Leon didn’t even think about it and directly shut down Barry’s request.
“Dad, you can let Damon come with me,” Barry nervously tugged at his clothes, afraid Leon would lock him up again.
-Leon didn’t want Barry to go out because he was still worried Barry might run into Tiffany. He didn’t want them to meet again.
‘I said no. Do you want to go out just to see Tiffany?” Leon’s tone was cold, clearly suspicious,
Barry lowered his head and mumbled, “No, Dad, I don’t want to see her.”
“Then no need to go out. If you need anything, just ask Damon to get it for you.”
Leon stood firm, Barry grew anxious. If he couldn’t go out today, he couldn’t swap with Sam.
“Dad, I promise I won’t see her. I just wanna walk around near the movie theater and buy some stuff I like,” Barry lied, his tone low.
But because of this, Leon noticed how scared his son was of him, and he felt a bit guilty.
Come to think of it, this was the first time Barry had asked to go out and buy things on his own.
Was he being too paranoid? Shouldn’t he let Barry go?
“Do you really have to go? Leon’s attitude softened a lot as he asked again,
“If you don’t want me to go, then I won’t… Dad, don’t be mad.”
Barry was still considering Leun’s feelings, not wanting to upset him. Leon’s heart ached. He knew Barry was always sensible and hardly asked for anything
Thinking of this, Leon sighed and patted Barry’s head. “Alright, you can go with Damon. I have some work to finish here. I’ll come find you after I’m done.”
Berry was so thrilled when Leon agreed that he hugged his dad’s leg and cheered.
This was the first time Barry had been to proactive, and Leen was happy to see his son’s change.
Barry packed his soft and beaded out with Damon
Chapter 14 The Clumsy Imitator
Near the movie theater, Sam was looking around anxiously, not seeing Barry and getting worried.
ife had just been unable to reach Barry and thought their plan had been discovered by Leon. But a few minutes ago, Barry told him that Leon had agreed to let him go out. So now Sam had to find a chance to meet Barry without making it too obvious in front of Tiffany.
“Sam, what’s wrong? You seem distracted, Tiffany suddenly appeared in front of Sam.
Sam immediately lowered his head guiltily. “Mom, my stomach hurts a bit,” he said, pretending to have a stomachache and holding his little belly.
Did you eat too much this morning?” Tiffany asked, looking worried.
“It’s okay, Mom. I probably just need to go to the bathroom. Can I go first?”
Sam stomped his feet anxiously, pretending to be in a hurry.
Tiffany quickly pointed to a nearby children’s playground. “Sam, I’ll wait for you there with Flora, okay? Hurry up and come back soon!”
“Okay, Mom!” Sam made an ‘OK‘ gesture and left,
The bathroom was just a few hundred feet away, and Sam ran there as fast as he could.
Tiffany took Flora’s hand and went to the playground, letting Flora play while she waited outside for Sam.
Sam entered the bathroom and sent a message to Barry.
Barry arrived quickly, just getting out of the car when he received Sam’s message. He glat Damon and said, ‘Damon, I need to go to the bathroom first.
Can you come with me?” Barry looked at him, knowing Damon wouldn’t refuse.
Sure enough, Damon took Barry to the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Tiffany encountered a bit of a problem.
She was waiting alone and had just glanced at her phone when she noticed someone tracking her hidden location. She was about to see who it was when a familiar voice sounded behind her, “Tiffany, I didn’t expect it to be you.”
Tiffany turned around and saw a face that looked somewhat like hers. She sneered. “Is it fun being a wannabe? Always trying to be someone else’s shadow!”
Tiffany had just mocked Bronte Langley, and Bronte’s face immediately stiffened. “Shut up! Who’s copying you? You shameless woman!”
Bronte was instantly furious, and her voice grew louder.
“Who’s shameless? Bronte, do you even have the nerve to say that?” Tiffany scanned Bronte. Her current style mirrored Tiffany’s from five years back. Bronte gritted her teeth, wanting to retort but feeling guilty, She hadn’t expected Tiffany to become even more sharp–tongued after a few years!
Tiffany labeled Bronte a pour imitation because in college, Bronte mimicked her every move, from style to speech, flawlessly.
And that wasn’t all. After Tiffany married Leon, Bronte was extremely jealous and secretly got plastic surgery to look 80% like Tiffany.
Even more ridiculously, when Bronte discovered Tiffany’s hidden birthmark behind her ear, she immediately got a tattoo to replicate it exactly.
But Tiffany didn’t know about these later developments.
