“A woman’s youth is fleeting,” Zoe continued with a playful grin. “You should enjoy love. while you’re young–just the romance, of course! There’s no need to rush into marriage, You’ve only just come back to me, and I’m not ready to let you go again so soon.”
Mia chuckled. “So, just date forever and never get married? Isn’t that kind of, I don’t know, leading people on?”
“That’s such an old–fashioned way of thinking,” Zoe replied with a wink. “It’s different here. People value their freedom, and marriage isn’t always the endgame. Plenty of couples live together for decades without getting married. They might even have a handful of kids, with

the oldest already in college, and still never bother with a marriage certificate.”
She paused for a moment, then softened her ton “Of course, I’m not saying marriage isn’t wonderful. If love naturally leads to marriage, that’s beautiful. But don’t treat marriage like a goal or an obligation. Love is meant to be enjoyed, and you’re still so young and beautiful. You deserve to experience all the Joy it brings.”
Zoe reached out to touch Mia’s hand gently. “Don’t build walls around your heart, and don’t turn away from people who want to get close to you. Life only happens once. Don’t overthink it. Do what you want, and don’t worry–1’ll always have your back.”
Mia smiled, understanding her aunt’s intentions Zoe was worried she would shut herself off after her failed marriage, staying cooped up at home and avoiding people. She wanted Mia to embrace life, love, and her youth.
“Okay,” Mia said with a small laugh.
Zoe’s eyes lit up. “So, if James invites you out, you’ll accept, right?”
“Sure,” Mia replied with a nod, completely unaware she was walking into a trap. “If he asks, I’ll go.”
“Perfect!” Zoe cheered, clapping her hands. “He just texted me, asking if you’d like to join him at a yacht party. I already told him you’d love to go.”
Mia’s jaw dropped. “What?! Aunt Zoe, you tricked me!”
