As soon as I stepped into the dorm, Hazel stormed out of the bathroom, furious, and roared at me.

“Why? Why is your face perfectly fine when you obviously have fur growing on your body?”
I scoffed, looking at my clothes in disgust before casually peeling off the stray fuzz right in front of her.
“Oh, that? My bad, I forgot. It’s from the cosplay event I attended last time.”
Hazel clutched her head, eyes wide with disbelief.
“This… How is this happening? How is this possible?”
Just then, a coworker who had just finished using the bathroom accidentally bumped into Hazel’s vanity. A bottle of perfume tipped over, spilling onto the table. The strong scent quickly spread, waking up the other girls who had been sleeping soundly.
“Ugh, what is that smell? Did the bathroom explode?”
“This stinks so bad! Someone opens a window!”
Hazel stood there, stunned. Her gaze fell on the vibrant puddle of makeup remover on the floor. Her breath hitched, and her

eyes locked onto me like a venomous snake.
“You tampered with my perfume, didn’t you?”

I shrugged innocently. “What are you talking about? I have no idea what you mean. Maybe your perfume expired?”
Hazel gritted her teeth. “Don’t play dumb! You know the wearer can’t smell this perfume, right?
“And another thing. Why is the perfume I gave you sitting on my vanity?”
Feigning deep thought, I suddenly gasped, “Oh, right! You said this perfume was a small token of your appreciation, remember?
“I figured it wouldn’t be polite not to return the favor, so I had a friend make an identical version overnight. But since this perfume is impossible to find, I just gave yours back and kept a replica in a ceramic bottle for myself.
“You’re usually so frugal, but you spent almost half your paycheck on this. I felt bad about it.”
Our coworkers started praising me, saying I was considerate for handling the situation so tactfully while also saving Hazel from embarrassment.
“But… your reaction is kinda weird,” I added, tilting my head. “I gave back the perfume you gifted me, yet you seem so unwilling to take it. Don’t tell me… your fur problem has something to do with this perfume?”

Hazel stiffened and quickly turned her head away.

“What? No way! I just felt uncomfortable… I gave you a gift, and you secretly returned it.
“You should try it, though. It’s really good.”
Seeing her use a tissue to wipe up the spilled perfume on the floor, I frowned and stepped aside.
“Are you insane? It fell on the floor, and you still want me to use it? What’s your problem? Are you trying to disgust me on
purpose?
“That’s nasty! Why would I put that on? Hazel, did you hit your head or something?”
“Charlotte, this perfume is really expensive. Just try it for me, okay?”
She reached for a broken shard of the ceramic bottle, trying to flick the perfume onto me. My expression darkened as I lowered my voice.
“Hazel, don’t you think you’re crossing the line? Giving me something ruined. Do you think I’m a trash can?”
Oh, she wanted to play the pitiful, innocent act again? Too bad for her. I wasn’t the same fool I was in my past life.
Under the confused gazes of our coworkers, Hazel hesitated. She

cast a regretful glance at the spilled perfume before sulking back to her bed.
The lights went out, but I didn’t sleep. Instead, I listened closely to Hazel’s movements.
In the dead of night, she tiptoed to my bedside, softly calling my
name.
When I didn’t respond, she lifted the perfume she had carefully collected and tried to pour it on me.
