Chapter 7

I put on a delighted act and exclaimed, “Great! Then I’ll accept
it.”
Just as I was about to leave, Wyatt grabbed my hand. I yanked it away with force.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“Charlotte, since we’ve made up, let’s go watch a movie today. I even prepared a surprise for you tonight.”
I looked at him with utter disdain.
“Aren’t you with Hazel now? And now you suddenly want to get back together with me?”
“What are you talking about?”
I let out a cold laugh and pulled up the intimate photos and videos of him and Hazel. With a few taps, I uploaded them to a social media platform along with a well–crafted caption.
Wyatt panicked and lunged forward, trying to snatch my phone. “What the hell are you doing? My career is over if this gets out!”
I glared at him, my voice sharp. “Stay back! Take one more step, and I’ll scream for help.”

Hearing the murmurs of onlookers around us, Wyatt didn’t dare make another move.
I picked up the gift and headed back to my dorm.
Inside, my coworkers were gathered around a table filled with fresh fruit.
“Charlotte, come try some! I just bought these.”
Hazel greeted me cheerfully, her face full of excitement.
My expression darkened. My voice came out in an enraged roar. “Hazel, I treated you as a friend, and this is how you repay me? Take back your boyfriend Wyatt’s gloves!”
Tears welled up in Hazel’s eyes. “Charlotte, don’t accuse me unfairly! Everyone knows Wyatt is your boyfriend.”
I threw the gift box straight at her face and shrieked, “Then why don’t you take a good look at the trending videos?!”
My coworkers quickly pulled out their phones to check. The moment they saw the faces of the people in the video, they were
stunned.
“Hazel, how could you? You really went behind Charlotte’s back and stole her man?”
“Wow, this is disgusting. Who knows what kind of nasty disease you’ve caught now.”

“None of them are decent people! Wyatt has been making moves on me, too, but I kept quiet for the sake of work. And look at you, Hazel, you didn’t just tolerate it. You threw yourself at him!”
My coworkers had spent enough time with me to know what kind of person I was.
The moment they saw Hazel’s true colors, they couldn’t help but speak up for me.
Hazel’s voice turned cold and sharp.
“Stop acting like saints! Wyatt was the one who pursued me, I liked him too. What’s so wrong about us being together?
and
“And what makes you so special, Charlotte? Just because you have a pretty face and come from money? Without those, what makes you any better than me?”
I shrugged.
“If I’m not mistaken, you only have a high school diploma. You weren’t even qualified for the job. How did you get in? Did Wyatt pull some strings for you?”
Hazel gave up pretending and went all in. She tilted her chin, looking proud and defiant.
“So what if he did? It’s not like you’re any better. Didn’t he sleep with you too? And let’s be real, you and your fancy degrees don’t mean shit. I spread my legs, and I still got in, didn’t I?”
Chapter 7
I pulled out my phone and stopped the recording.
“You can explain that to the higher–ups.”

Hazel’s eyes widened in shock. She lunged at me, trying to grab my phone.
But before she could reach me, my enraged coworkers swarmed her. Punches and kicks flew as they pinned her down, giving her the beating she deserved.
