Chapter 101
“Mr. Snapp, which car do you think Mr. Fisher should wash?”
There was a hint of playfulness in Elara’s voice. She believed that Theodore would not disappoint her.
Theodore said to the staff, “Bring over the car that Mr. Fisher wants to wash.”
A garbage truck slowly approached.
Only a few people left the stands. Most of the audience remained seated, curiously looking in Luna’s direction. Since Luna hadn’t left, they wouldn’t leave either.
All the spectators craned their necks, eager to watch the spectacle when they saw a filthy garbage truck driving
over.
At that moment, a staff member at the control panel took a note that was handed to him and read into the microphone, “As per the previous agreement, since Luna is the champion, not only will Mr. Harvey gift Luna * three cars, he’ll also personally wash a car as part of the prize!”
The staff member’s voice was amplified through a sound system worth millions of dollars.
“Tonight, Mr. Harvey will wash a garbage truck for Luna, live! Everyone, please give him a round of applause!”
After saying this, the staff member raised his hand and wiped his forehead. He had no choice. The Snapps were a long–established and wealthy family in Capitol, and he couldn’t afford to offend the Fishers either. He could only hope that if Harvey was mad, he’d take it out on Theodore instead of making things difficult for a mere employee
like him.
The staff hyped up the crowd, causing them to clap. Harvey was thus cornered. The giant screen in the stands remained on, and it was clear the cameramen and director intended to livestream every moment of Harvey washing the garbage truck.
Meanwhile, Niamh was still pushing her motorcycle, making her way toward the finish line. She somewhat regretted pushing the bike. If she had just run, she could have reached the finish line in about 20 minutes.
But now, she was still pushing the motorcycle along. She was dressed in thick racing gear, and her posture grew increasingly ugly as she walked.
“Let’s go,” Theodore said. “It stinks here.”
Harvey thought he was actually insulting him with that remark.
Naturally, Elara had no interest in watching Harvey wash a truck. If he refused to do it under so many watchful eyes, he would only make a fool of himself.
She left with Theodore.
“Goodbye, Luna!” yelled Beau, who sounded reluctant to part from her.
However, Elara didn’t look back and got into the Corona. Once she got into it and drove off the racetrack, Niamh wanted to leave but was stopped by Theodore’s men.
A staff member yelled out to her through the microphone, Ms. Jones, you have 1.2 miles left! Everyone, cheer for
Niamh!”
Once again, the crowd’s eyes locked on Niamh. She immediately raised a hand to cover her face. She found it really embarrassing for her to be walking alone on the track at this moment.

Blisters had already formed on her feet. Before the race, she had boasted that she would make Luna crawl to the finish line. Yet now, at this rate, she would have to crawl to reach the finish line.
Harvey called for someone to help him wash the garbage truck. Since he refused to do it himself, no one dared to force him.
He watched the entire time the garbage truck was being washed. This was the biggest compromise he could make. When he left Clockwork Mountain, Niamh’s legs had gone weak. She knelt at the finish line, crying and screaming. Harvey took Beau back to the Fisher residence. Beau gripped an invisible steering wheel in his hands, imitating the roar of an engine. Although it was late at night, he was still very excited.
“Daddy, you forgot to get Luna’s contact info! But it’s okay. She’ll come to our house to pick up the car, right? That way, I can see Luna again!”
The maids coaxed Beau to bed.
Harvey stayed in the shower for a full 50 minutes. He only grabbed his towel upon confirming he didn’t have the scent of the garbage truck on him. He then dried himself off
He lay down on his bed. In his dreams, the deafening roar of a race car engine filled the air. He was in the car, and Luna was on his lap.
There was friction between clothes and rapid breathing. Then, the speeding sports car completely lost control on the track.
Suddenly, Luna took off her helmet, and her dark hair cascaded down like a waterfall. The strands. Her hair was like a net, wrapping up his pounding heart.
She braced one hand against the backrest and leaned down. The face that appeared in Harvey’s line of sight was Elara, whose delicate features were flushed.
Harvey’s eyes snapped open. Lying in bed, he stared at the ceiling, gasping for breath. He was in a state of shock. It was as if he had a nightmare.
He sat up abruptly. There was no time to dwell on how absurd the dream was.
Suddenly realizing something, he yanked back the covers immediately.
