Chapter 105
Harvey had never spoken up for any woman before.
Ethel was furious. “How could you speak to me in such a manner? Has that vixen Luna bewitched you so badly that you don’t even recognize your own mother anymore?”
Before Ethel could finish her sentence, Harvey hung up. He tossed his phone onto the desk. His handsome face looked so cold that it could freeze water.
It would have been fine had Ethel not brought up Luna. The moment she did, suspicion surged through him.
Previously, on Clockwork Mountain, he had told Luna to pick up the car from the Fisher residence. However, three days had passed, yet she never showed up. Other than Theodore, no one had been able to reach her.
“Sell my Bugatti La Voiture Noire and Aston Martin Valkyrie from the garage!” he commanded his secretary.
Cyrus was at a loss. “Mr. Fisher, why are you suddenly selling your cars?”
Both were top–tier, limited–edition supercars. Even just seeing them in the garage had left Cyrus awestruck.
Harvey’s expression remained dark. He wasn’t going to explain his reasons to Cyrus.
“And make sure the news that I want to sell these two cars spreads,” he added.
He was forcing Luna to appear. If she didn’t show up before him, she would never get those two cars.
At noon at Capitol, five and a half hours remained until the competition ended. Elara clicked the submit button on her computer.
She raised her hand at a proctor and said, “I’m turning in my paper.”
The moment she spoke, all the other contestants‘ attention fell on her.
The proctor was shocked. “What? Are you sure you want to submit your paper?”
Elara replied, “I’ve completed all the questions.”
Previously, she handed in the paper at the end of the preliminaries. It wasn’t just because she was delayed by Harvey.
Participating in the math competition after five years, she clearly felt her reaction speed slowing down. As such, she had specifically trained her cognitive functions recently, which improved her thinking efficiency before the finals. Once her thoughts became more precise, her problem–solving speed naturally increased.
The proctor looked at Elara. After confirming that she had indeed submitted her paper, he allowed her to leave the exam hall.
The other contestants reacted differently when they saw Elara submit her paper five hours early. Her early submission gave them more pressure. The participants couldn’t help but wonder if the exam paper was too easy, or if they were too dumb.
Wayne scoffed when he saw Elara leaving the exam hall with her laptop bag in hand. She was probably submitting her paper so quickly just to craft the image of a genius. However, in doing so, she was sacrificing accuracy.
Wayne sneered in his mind. Even if she somehow managed to squeeze into the top 20, he would make sure she suffered a crushing defeat in the challenge round.

Blara walked out of the STEM building, only to be immediately swarmed by the reporters who had been waiting for her outside. They had completely blocked her path in the blink of an eye.
“Ms. Jones, why are you leaving the exam hall?”
“Ms. Jones, are you forfeiting the competition?”
“I’ve submitted my paper,” replied Elara.
“You’ve submitted your paper? That’s impossible! Ms. Jones, does this mean you’ve withdrawn from the exam?” These reporters didn’t seem to understand human speech, o Elara had no interest in explaining further. Her entire problem–solving process had been live–streamed online. While most viewers couldn’t understand the competition’s questions, they could clearly see the extent to which she had completed them.
“Please move aside.” She tried to leave, but the reporters refused to let her through.
“Ms. Jones, what do you have to say about abandoning your husband and child to compete in a math contest?” Elara froze momentarily. A reporter standing at the bottom of the steps grinned, revealing a set of yellow teeth. He then continued smugly, “We interviewed your son at Summit Academy. Would you like to hear what he had to say about you?”
