Under the escort of more than a dozen bodyguards, Elara finally managed to leave the academic building. However, the reporters were like a restless swarm of mosquitoes as they trailed closely behind her.
“Who are you people?”
“Who sent you?”
The reporters chattered incessantly, shoving microphones toward the expressionless bodyguards‘ faces.
Along the way, many students were drawn to the commotion. They glanced curiously at Elara’s direction.
The bodyguard who was at the end of the group showed his credentials to the reporters who were persistently harassing them.
When the reporters saw the Southshore Security on the badge, they abruptly stopped in their tracks.
The bodyguard warned them, “You should know what can and cannot be reported. If you publish something you shouldn’t, you will bear the consequences!”
The crowd of reporters instantly fell silent. Several quick–thinking cameramen immediately lowered their shoulder–mounted cameras and even covered the lenses. Now that they knew these were bodyguards from Southshore Security, they stopped instantly.
A black sedan was parked not far away. At Capitol University, even school administrators‘ vehicles were not allowed to drive freely on campus. Yet, this solemn and imposing car had driven straight in.
The car door opened, revealing a tall and well–built young man seated in the spacious backseat. The dim lighting inside the car cast shadows over his face. However, his sharp and well–defined bone structure hinted at an exceptionally handsome visage.
The reporters craned their necks and widened their eyes.
“Is that Harvey Fisher? He kind of looks like him!”
“Didn’t Mr. Fisher divorce Elara?”
“Could he even dispatch Southshore Security? That’s Impossible!”
The well–trained bodyguards held the reporters back, keeping them about 6 feet away.
Elara walked up to the side of the car. Upon seeing the man inside, she respectfully greeted him. “Uncle Leonard.”
The words slipped out naturally, but as soon as she said them, she realized the name was no longer appropriate.
The air inside the car grew heavy and suffocating. She had already divorced Harvey, so she could no longer call
him that.
“Get in.”
The deep, husky voice resonated like the low hum of a church organ, carrying an aura that made denying impossible.
Elara stepped into the car, compelled by that irresistible force.
Inside the car were two spacious seats facing each other. Instinctively, Elara put some distance between herself
and Leonard. She sat across from him, stiff and reserved.
Suddenly, warmth spread across her waist.

Elara lowered her head. Sitting beside her was a small boy who threw himself in her arms, wrapping his little hands around her waist.
Elara smiled, raised her hand, and stroked his hair.
“Xav!”
The boy, dressed in a neatly tailored suit, let out a soft munur like a little kitten.
He raised his head, and his dark eyes shimmered in the dim light. This child was Leonard’s adopted son–Xavier Fisher. Due to autism, he could not speak and had never attended school. However, he was close to Elara.
Among the children of the Fisher family, aside from Beau, there was hardly anyone who didn’t like Elara.
“Sit properly!” Leonard’s deep voice reminded Xavier, but Xavier completely ignored him, immersed in Elara’s warmth as he leaned against her.
The faint scent of sandalwood filled the car. As soon as Elara sat inside, the chaos from the outside world faded
away.
“What are you playing with, Xav?” Her voice was low and gentle. Xavier handed her the interlinked metal rings in his hands.
The journalist from Platinum 818 squeezed his head between the arms of two bodyguards. He caught sight of the man inside the car and immediately recognized Leonard.
He bore some resemblance to Harvey and was a member of the Fisher family who was accompanied by Southshore Security’s bodyguards. He was Harvey’s uncle, Leonard.
The journalist stretched his arm as far as he could, shoving the microphone into the car just before the door was about to close.
“Are you Leonard, Prof. Fisher? Are you aware that Elara has been accused of abusing her son?”
Leonard had come to pick up Elara. He definitely hadn’t heard about Beau’s allegations yet. If Leonard found out that his grandnephew had been mistreated, Elara would be kicked out of the car in an instant.
“Prof. Fisher, listen to Beau’s recording and see what Elara has done to her son!”
The other reporters who stood six feet away secretly admired the courage of the Platinum 818 journalist.
The car door opened again, and the journalist’s heart pounded with excitement. Elara was about to be thrown out! He signaled to the cameraman, reminding him not to miss this moment. As the door fully opened, the interior lights illuminated, casting a glow on Leonard’s strikingly handsome face. The reporters instinctively held their breath.
It really was Leonard! He was a heavyweight at Hawke University and a talented think tank who often traveled in and out of Southshore. He was extremely famous.
His very existence was the foundation of the Fisher family’s strength.
He and Harvey shared a resemblance, as their age gap was no more than two years.
His features were serene and handsome, yet his presence commanded awe, making people hesitate to approach him.
When his dark, ink–like eyes swept over them, the journalist felt as though he had been exposed. It was as if Leonard’s gaze were that of a divine being, piercing through falsehoods to reveal his true nature.

Ever since he became famous, he was like a mythical being unseen. To unexpectedly encounter him on the Capitol University campus was a stroke of good luck in the reporters‘ opinions.
The bodyguards stood in two lines. Though Leonard remained seated inside the car, it felt as though he were positioned on high, forcing the journalists standing nearby to look up at him.
“Elara has raised Beau for five years. As her uncle, I have never seen her abuse a child.”
Leonard had spoken in defense of Elara. The other reporters didn’t dare utter a single breath.
“But Prof. Fisher, just listen–listen to what your grandnephew is saying…” The Platinum 818 journalist then played the recording.
“A seasoned journalist, digging for sensational stories from the mouth of a five–year–old child–don’t you find that ridiculous?”
Leonard’s voice swept over them like a fierce wind roaring through a valley. The journalist’s heart raced wildly, and a chill ran through his veins.
