The smile on Harvey’s face faltered as he knew perfectly well who Theodore was referring to. Upon realizing that someone was going after his ex–wife, he only felt angry for a split second. Then, he was disgusted by the thought!
Harvey looked up and turned to look at an old tree outside. The tree was a hundred years old, and it was still standing majestically. That was the church’s wishing tree, and people would write their wishes on a ribbon and tie them on the branches.
Some people would also put up ornaments on it. So, when there was a breeze, the ornaments would sway in the wind and start chiming.
“She would come here every year to make a wish, but none of her wishes have been granted before,” Harvey said to Theodore and made it sound like a joke.
Suddenly, Beau ran to Harvey and yelled at him, “Daddy! I don’t want that woman to pray for me anymore!” Beau was clenching his fists tightly. When he saw someone had written down a prayer for him and Merida, he felt upset. So, he asked the priest there about it.
The priest told him that Elara would go to the church every day to pray for her children.
“That woman isn’t my mommy anymore, and Merida doesn’t even have the same last name as me now! I don’t want my name to be in the same prayer as her!” Then, he said to Harvey, “Tell the priest to remove my name from there now!”
When the priest heard that, he frowned. “Your mother would pray for you every year because she wanted you to be safe at all times, kid. If you remove your name, all of your mother’s prayers will be wasted!”
Beau didn’t care at all. “Whatever! I’m going to remove it! She’s just an idiot, and I don’t want her to pray for me!”
Niamh’s eyes lit up in joy, and she couldn’t help saying, “Elara sure is superstitious, isn’t she? After all, she would always pray and be wishful! Since Beau doesn’t offer prayers, just help him remove his name, Father! After all, he doesn’t believe in it at all!”
The priest pursed his lips, wondering why they would be there if they didn’t believe in prayers. If they were just tourists, they could’ve just left the place!
However, since the Fisher family had contributed to the church throughout the years, he endured the frustration he had. “Mr. Fisher, what do you think…” The priest ignored Niamh entirely and said to Harvey, “I strongly advise against removing Mr. Beau’s name from the prayer.”
“Daddy!” Beau exclaimed once more.
Then, Harvey said coldly, “Just do as he says.‘
The priest sighed helplessly. Just when he turned around, he saw a young girl entering the church with a woman behind her.
Elara had both hands on Merida’s shoulders as she walked behind the girl. Merida placed her hands on the arms in front of her chest while she supported half of Elara’s weight. Elara was panting heavily as she waddled like a duck, and she thought no one else would be at the church at that hour.
Elara was looking down at Merida, and her hair fell on her shoulders beautifully. After she was done chatting with Merida with a smile, she looked up and instinctively tried to look for Finnegan. However, when she saw the cold man standing at the altar, the smile on her face froze.
She couldn’t believe her luck at all, wondering why Harvey would be there.

Chapter 179
“Mr. Theodore!” Compared to Harvey, Merida was more interested in seeing Theodore. Upon seeing the latter, she smiled brightly. Elara hadn’t regained her strength yet. So, she was pulled along when Merida ran toward Theodore.
“Mr. Theodore, are you here to make a wish as well?”
Harvey’s gaze followed Merida as she ran past him. She didn’t spare a glance at her own father at all.
When Theodore saw Merida, he smiled gently. “Yeah. Are you here to pray as well, Merida?”
When Merida saw Theodore, she felt way better, and she nodded at him enthusiastically.
“Mrs. Fisher.” The priest recognized Elara, but he didn’t know she and Harvey had already gotten a divorce. “Your son wishes to have his name removed from your prayers. Please try to talk him out of it, Mrs. Fisher.”
