Chapter 120
Elara looked toward the altar. When Beau saw her, he pouted and turned to the side with his arms crossed. He didn’t want to spare a glance at her at all.
Then, Niamh said, “Elara, you sure are superstitious! How do you expect him to live with his head held up if you pray for him like this all the time?” 1
“Niamh is right!” No matter what Niamh said, Beau would agree with her immediately. When he was casually exploring the church earlier, she was the one who showed him the prayer with his name and Merida’s name on it. Since Merida wasn’t part of the Fisher family anymore, he found it disgusting to have her name next to his. After all, he was the true descendant of the Fisher family! The more Beau thought about it, the angrier he was.
“Hey!” he yelled at Elara. “Remove my name right now! I don’t want to have anything to do with you anymore!”
When the priest heard that, his face fell. “Mr. Fisher…” He hoped Harvey could lecture Beau a little.
“Father Maxwell,” Elara said gently, and the priest, Tony Maxwell, turned to her. She had a determined look behind her dark eyes as she said, “Let’s just do as the boy says. I’m not going to pray for him ever again.”
Tony wanted to say something else, but when he glanced at Elara and Beau, he decided to go with it. Suddenly, a breeze blew in the church, and the prayers on the wishing tree started swaying. Then, the people stood in two groups on each side of the path in front of a room.
“Mr. Beau, let me take you to prayer now. If you don’t want the prayers your mother has prepared for you, you’ll have to remove it yourself,” Tony said as he approached the room.
“Beau!” Merida yelled angrily, and her clear voice echoed throughout the church. When Beau heard Merida yelling at him, he tensed up. Then, he followed Tony without turning back at all.
Merida had a lot of things she wanted to say to Beau. However, she knew it would be pointless at that moment.
Elara turned around and looked at the wishing tree and all the prayers on it.
“Have you made a wish here before?“!
“Yeah, I did.” She smiled with a pale face. “We can’t force a person to love us, so I should’ve let go sooner and not have any wishful thinking.”
“It’s never too late to turn back,” Theodore said casually, and it felt relaxing to hear his voice. Elara looked at him, and he looked away from her instead. As he turned his head away, there were countless thoughts behind his gaze.
Before Elara could say anything else, he rolled up his sleeves and said, “Let me help you remove all the impossible wishes!” Then, he got someone to bring him a ladder, and he climbed up the tree himself and checked every single wish.
Finnegan placed Merida on his shoulders, and she also joined in to search for the wishes Elara had made in the past.
A short while later, Beau happily skipped his way out of the room. Then, he bragged to Niamh and said, “I’ve removed all the prayers that woman has prepared for me throughout the years!”
Niamh crossed her arms and enjoyed how Beau listened to everything she said. “Our dear Beau is his own man. So, you don’t need any of those idiotic things in your life!”
Hearing her approval, Beau was happy as well. “Let’s go, Daddy!” With that, Beau and Harvey stepped away from the altar. Harvey left coldly, and he never once spared a glance at Elara at all.

“Hey!” Suddenly, Merida said, “I see Mommy’s name with Mr. Harvey’s name here!”
Upon hearing that, Harvey stopped in his tracks immediately.
