Chapter 128
+25 BONUS
At first, the kids thought it was interesting. However, they were tired of hearing it after a few days. Since lant week, Beau kept saying that Lama would visit his house soch. However, he was still waiting for her to arrive. So, the other kids stopped taking him seriously.
Seeing how some kids were walking toward Merida, Heau furriedly said, “Those who tearn up with Merida will have to stay back to tidy up the field and clean the gym room!” Hearing that, none of the kids dared to approach Merida anymore,
The P.E. teacher, Jonathan Walker, had always gone with Beau’s wishes. He even made Beau a committee of the P.E. association. So, Beau would have to be in charge of tidying up the gym equipment after they were done with
their class.
When Jonathan noticed Shirley was the only one on Merida’s team, he said, “We’re playing volleyball, so get into groups of five! You two, split up and find a team to join.“.
After he arranged the two girls into another team, Shirley reluctantly joined her new team.
“Mr. Walker! We don’t want to be on the same team as Merida!” said one of the kids right when Merida was about to join his team.
Jonathan looked at the other teams and said, “In that case, Merida can join…”
“Mr. Walker, we don’t need another teammate anymore!”
“We don’t want to be on her team as well!”
“She’s going to cheat like her mother! We don’t want to play with her!”
The kids had exchanged the information they had heard from their parents about Elara. However, they didn’t fully hear what the adults said about her. So, when they started talking about it at school, they treated Merida like she was going to set them up. Meanwhile, Beau’s comments only made it worse.
No one wanted to be on the same team as Merida at all. When they were in the classroom, no one other than Shirley and Paisley would talk to her.
Since Paisley was weak, Jonathan would always tell her to rest at the side during P.E. classes and never let her join in the activities.
Merida stood alone on the field. Ever since she changed her name, no one else wanted to be her friend. She bit her lip and clenched her fists, thinking about the promise she had made to Elara. No matter how hard her situation had gotten, she would get through it bravely.
So, she raised her hand and said, “I can be my own team.”
Jonathan thought it was amusing and said, “Merida, you need to reflect on yourself and think about why the others don’t want to play with you.” Then, he blew his whistle and said to everyone, “The winning team will be awarded with a flower!”
Beau crossed his arms and commanded his teammates like a leader, “Make sure to protect me!”
When the game began, two teams of five started competing fiercely, and Beau’s team came out victorious in the
end.
When it was time for the third and fourth groups to compete, Merida stepped forward alone.
“You can do it, Merida!” Paisley cheered while sitting on the bench at the side.
Chapter 128
The opposing team served the ball first, and Merida succesfully caught the ball coming at her. Although there were five people playing against her, she was galning points nonstop.
The whistle fell out from Jonathan’s mouth, and Merida waved at him. “Mr. Walker, they’ve all been defeated”
He turned around and saw that all the kids on the other side of the field had collapsed. They were all trying to catch their breath.
“What’s the score?” he asked Paisley, who was in charge of keeping the scores.
“It’s 32 to 0!”
Throughout the five–minute game, Merida didn’t lose a single point. When she defeated a whole team by herself and caused Beau to lose, he started crying, “That didn’t count! I want a rematch!”
