Some of the kids on the same team as Beau placed their hadils on the ground to support their weight. Some of them were sticking out their tongues as they tried to catch their breaths. Meanwhile, some of them were sitting on the ground and looking up at the sky.
“Beau, we can’t even get up now! How are we going to compete?”
Beau stood at the side and watched as Jonathan gave Merida flower. Since Jonathan brought five flowers as an award, Merida received all five flowers for being in a team by herself. Seeing that, Beau was incredibly upset. He pointed at her and ordered, “Hey, the person who won the same! You’re in charge of tidying up the place!”
“Why?” Shirely thought it was unfair for Merida.
Paisley asked as well, “Why should she be the one tidying up the place when she’s the victor?”
So, Beau said, “Everyone else has run out of strength after he defeated them. Look at how she’s not sweating at all! If she’s not tidying up, who else is going to do it?”
“Well, you look like you still have a lot of strength left, Beau!” said Shirley.
Beau grabbed one of his friend’s arms and placed the boy on his back. “I’m the head of the class! So, I’m sending the exhausted kids back to our class!” Then, he tried to pick the boy up, but he couldn’t do it at all.
As his face turned red, he said through gritted teeth, “Come one! Walk! Do you really expect me to carry you?” Soon, the other kids were already back in the classroom, and Shirley and Paisley stayed back to help Merida tidy up the place.
“Ah! Help!” Suddenly, there was a scream that shocked Shirley and Paisley. Merida turned to the direction where the scream was coming from. There was a group of kids crazily running on the field near them.
Behind them was a man with a mask and a set of black sportswear. He was running after them with a bat in his hand.
Shirley and Paisley were frozen in place as they watched Merida rushing toward the kids.
“Merida! Come back!”
“Don’t go there, Merida!”
The girls were yelling at Merida as loud as they could. Merida just threw the ball in her hand at the man as hard as she could. Then, the ball hit the man’s back hard, and he fell to the ground. “Ouch!”
When he tried to get up, Merida stepped on the man’s back and pinned his hand with the bat in place. After that, she pulled the hand backward, and everyone there heard a loud crack.
“Ah!” the man screamed in pain while facing the sky.
The kids who were running earlier started turning around to see what was happening. Then, they saw a girl in a pink dress standing there. Her hair was tied up on both sides of her head with some pink ribbons that were fluttering in the wind.
The girl looked adorable like she was a doll from a cartoon. Her face was round, her eyes were dark, and her lips had a subtle hint of pink.
The kids exclaimed in awe, “Wow! Is that the brave heroine who’s here to save us?”

Suddenly, a teacher ran toward Merida and said, “He isn’t bad guy, little one!”
Merida looked up in confusion, but she hadn’t let go of the man’s arm yet. “He was going after the other kids with a bat in his hand.”
Seeing how brave Merida was, the teacher didn’t dare to get any closer to her at all. “Our class is conducting a safety lesson, and this man was hired by the school to play the bad guy.”
Meanwhile, the masked man cried helplessly, “Please settle the medical bill for me as well!”
