Chapter 139
Harvey’s grip tightened around the contract document, his fingers pressing hard enough to leave deep creases in the paper.
Leonard’s voice remained calm, his tone level but it carril a weight that crushed any resistance Harvey might have had
“Your father didn’t raise you right”
The words hit like a hurricane, tearing down every bit of 11arvey’s pride and self–assurance.
He was the head of Fisher Corp. He had been in charge for years. Everyone followed his lead without question. He saw himself as a ruler above all, his word absolute. But he never imagined that a higher power would one day bring him to his knees.
But now, standing before the true power above him, he realized just how easily a god could pass judgment.
His breathing grew shallow, the weight of it all pressing down on his chest.
“Mr. Leonard, we’re not just ‘random people.” Don’t you remember me? I met you at the Fisher residence when Dawn and I were kids…”
Niamh tried to find common ground, reaching for anything that might soften Leonard’s stance.
Leonard wasn’t particularly aggressive, but his presence alone was so overwhelming that standing within a few feet of him made speaking a challenge.
Abel, catching on quickly, scrambled to add, “Mr. Leonard, we’ve met before! And I’m Elara’s father–how can we be considered outsiders? We’re family”
Leonard’s gaze finally shifted onto Abel. In that instant, it was as if he stood outside the bounds of time itself- single glance that could freeze the very blood in Abel’s veins.
“You call yourself her family? Weren’t you the one who threw her out of your house?”
A ripple of shock ran through Elara’s chest.
How did Leonard know about Abel throwing Merida and Elara out?
Abel’s throat closed up. He scrambled for an excuse. “That’s not–I mean, there were… circumstances-”
“Shut up.” Leonard’s voice wasn’t loud, but it carried a weight that left Abel no choice but to obey.
He lifted his chin slightly and said to Harvey, “Tell them to leave.”
Abel felt his face burn with humiliation.
He had been in business for decades and had met countless powerful figures–but never had he been dismissed so completely.
Getting kicked out in the middle of a meal? Their whole family?
Niamh’s eyes darted toward Harvey, looking for help.
But Harvey only met them with a cold, impassable expression. “Leave.”
Since Leonard was seven years old, the Fisher family had abided by one unshakable rule–Leonard’s happiness was more important than anything else.

Chapter 139
Abel pulled Dapline close, preparing to leave.
“But I’m still hungry,” Daphne muttered under her breath
Abel didn’t dare argue. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. We’ll eat somewhere else!
Before leaving, Daphne made sure to snatch up the designer dress from the gift box.
Elara didn’t care. Anything Harvey gave her was as good as trash.
Harvey watched her take the dress but didn’t say anything. He just waited to see if Elara would regret letting it go.
Niamh, reluctant as she was, had no choice but to stand and follow.
Dawn had once told her that even her grandfather had to show Leonard respect.
Even back in elementary schibol, Niamh had understood–eonard wasn’t just a person. He was different. He didn’t belong to their world.
Even Bean, young as he was, seemed shaken by Leonard’s presence.
“L… Do I have to leave too?”
He looked up at his father, seeking an answer.
Harvey gave him none. Instead, he turned to Niamh. “Take Beau with you.”
A five–year–old had no place in this conversation.
Beau slid off his chair, rushing to grab Niamh’s hand. “Wait for me, Niamh!”
The moment the unwanted guests were gone, Harvey finally exhaled. Surely, this was enough to satisfy Leonard.
Then Leonard turned to Elara. He said, “Let’s go somewhere else for dinner.“!
After Abel, Daphne, and Niamh left, the dining table was a complete mess, making Leonard, who had just arrived, lose his appetite.
The moment he said it, Harvey’s expression turned dark.
At last, he understood why everyone in the Fisher family dreaded facing Leonard because going up against him meant being utterly crushed, regardless of who they were.
Right now, Harvey was questioning his entire life.
How had he managed to screw up something as simple as inviting Leonard to dinner?
“Uncle Leonard, we can move to a different private room. I’ll have them prepare fresh meals for you.”
“No need.” Leonard didn’t even spare him a glance. “You managed to ruin something as basic as a dinner.”
Harvey had nothing to say to that.
Oliver turned his wheelchair toward the door.
Elara picked up Merida and followed without hesitation.
She hadn’t come here for Harvey. She only stayed this long because she wanted to have dinner with Leonard.
Even spending one more second in the same space as Harvey was a waste of time.
Chapter 139
Just as Leonard reached the doorway, he turned his head slightly. “Write a report about tonight,” he said flatly.” Give it to your father.”
