Chapter 152
Ethel’s face turned pale before she flushed. The guests starting at the sidelines sulckered as if they were enjoying a good show. They had all seen how she had deliberately male things difficult for Elara. However, they didn’t Janow if Lucas deliberately had Ethel serve Hlara wine.
Ethel frantically shot glances at the waitstaff, hoping; they would take the hint and step forward to relieve her of the tray. She was Elara’s elder. How could she possibly serve Elara?
While she was feeling embarrassed, Harvey reached out and took two glasses of wine from the tray she was carrying. He handed one of them to Elara.
“My mother is still your mother–in–law. In a setting like this, learn some etiquette, and don’t make a fool of yourself.”
Though he personally hand the wine to Elara, his posture remained arrogant. This was Elara’s first time attending such a high–profile banquet, and her behavior did not satisfy him.
When Elara looked at him, there was a bright and beautiful smile on her face. Under the light of the crystal chandelier, her dark eyes shimmered like stars.
“Harvey, you’re the real fool here!”
Harvey’s expression instantly became frosty.
“Elara, my son personally served you a glass of wine! What reason do you have to refuse it?” Ethel scolded her angrily. Back when Elara was living with the Fishers, she would have been grateful if Harvey poured her a glass of
water.
Elara showed no mercy. “He’s a fool, and you’re the fool’s mother.”
“Elara!” Niamh tried to step in to support Ethel, hoping to earn some favor from Ethel. However, just as she spoke,
Elara cut her off.
“You love acting like Harvey’s dad, so that makes you the father of a fool. Your whole family is making a fool of themselves here. What’s the difference between this and wearing an apron while being naked underneath? You only care about your appearance and not what’s inside. It’s really embarrassing!”
Ethel’s complexion was green one moment and pale the next. She was so furious that she nearly slammed the tray she was holding onto the floor.
At that moment, Lucas reached out and took a glass of wine from the tray in Ethel’s hands. Her expression changed instantly to look respectful. She then watched as Lucas personally handed the glass of wine to Elara.
The corner of Ethel’s lips drooped instantly. She was displeased but dared not show/

“Ms. Jones, we have not treated you well enough,” Lucas said apologetically. He then turned his head and issued a warning to Harvey.
“Keep an eye on your mother. And…”
Lucas didn’t recognize Niamh, but Elara had just said that Niamh was Harvey’s father. He gave Niamh a once- over. Although he was confused, he chose to respect whatever she was getting up to.
“And keep an eye on your father. Otherwise, I will have you all escorted out.”
“I’m not Harvey’s…” Niamh tried to explain but Harvey snapped at her.
“Enough! Haven’t you embarrassed yourself enough already?”
Chapter 152
Niamh flushed and shot him a look. However, Harvey had become an impersonal ice sculpture, and his dark eyes were like black holes, swallowing all light.
He saw Elara happily accept the wine glass that Lucas had onded to her.
A loud crack was heard. The slender stems of two wine glasses shattered in Harvey’s grip. Sharp glass shards sliced across the back of his hand. Blood began to trickle down his right hand.
Niamh cried out, “Harvey! You’re bleeding!”
She quickly reached out to hold his hand, but he shoved her hand aside. His eyes remained fixed on Elara’s face
