Chapter 162
Suddenly, a strong hand reached out from the side, grabbing Wendy’s arm and yanking her down from the balcony railing.
Niamh, who had pushed forward with all her strength, hit nothing but air. The sudden loss of balance sent her body lurching forward.
“Ack!” A single scream escaped before she flipped over the waist–high railing, plummeting into the bushes below
The garden beneath the terrace was shrouded in darkness, and a wall of agony rose from where Niamh had fallen.
Benjamin glanced down with a smirk tugging at the comer of his lips. “She’ll live
He paid her no further attention. Instead, he crouched down, startling Wendy, who flinched like a frightened bird.
Switching on his phone’s flashlight, Benjamin got straight to work. Without hesitation, he began pulling out the shards of glass embedded in Wendy’s knees,
Her entire body trembled as each removal sent sharp pain rough her legs, making them weak beneath her.
Benjamin worked quickly, and she could hear the shards hit the tiled floor with crisp, metallic sounds. Then came the sharp rip of fabric.
He tore a strip from the hem of his own shirt, holding one end between his teeth as he shredded it into makeshift bandages.
With practiced efficiency, he wrapped the cloth around Wendy’s knees, securing the wounds to prevent further contamination
“Somebody help! Is anyone there? Where the hell’s my phone?”
Still sprawled in the bushes, Niamh had finally regained her senses after the fall. Even so, her entire body felt stiff from the impact. Any slight movement sent waves of pain rippling through her.
She tried calling for help, but the night remained silent as no one responded. And she still believed Wendy had deliberately dodged her at the last second.
She never noticed that when she fell, a figure had been standing in the shadows of the terrace as he was quietly smoking, lost in thought.
Wendy was stunned to realize that Benjamin had no intention of helping Niamh. It seemed like he was far more interested in her instead.
His blood–stained fingers hooked under her chin as his tall, imposing frame leaned in, pressing her against the railing
He studied her with an almost childlike fascination. It was as if he had just discovered something new and intriguing in the world.
Pinned against his chest, Wendy squirmed uneasily. Benjamin caught the hand she had kept clenched in a fist ju as she was about to speak. Her heart pounded violently as his long, well–defined fingers pried open her delicate fingers one by one.
A small, triangular shard of glass hidden in her palm was finally revealed. The sharp edge had already pierced deep into her flesh. Her palm was now a mess of blood and torn skin.
The night wind carried the metallic scent of blood, filling Wendy’s nose. Her expression remained taut as her wide eyes glared ahead fiercely.
Chapter 162
She looked like a trapped fawn in a hunter’s snare, glaring Benjamin with stubborn defiance. It was as if she was preparing to lash out at any moment.
Something about her fierceness and unyielding gaze reminded him of someone else,
A wicked smile curved his lips. At that moment, Wendy understood that Benjamin hadn’t saved her. He had saved Niamh!
If he hadn’t yanked her away from the railing in time, she would have slashed Niamh’s throat.
“You
look adorable… But I wonder how you taste?”
Benjamin smirked before leaning in and kissing her, capturing her lips as if savoring the answer himself. His warm breath brushed against her face as he pulled away.
“If you follow me, I won’t tell anyone what happened tonight.”
He was a devil who played with the innocent, preying on young women for his own amusemerit.
Wendy’s eyes flew open at his words, “Follow you?”
