Elara and Theodore both turned toward the voice. Even after being exposed by Leonard, Theodore showed no sign of irritation. Instead, he leaned in closer, boldly closing the distance between him and Elara.
“Take a good sniff. Is it blood or wine?”
As he moved in, Elara instinctively held her breath, When he cautiously inhaled, she caught the rich, fragrant scent of wine.
Earlier, when Theodore had been struck, she had been holding a glass of red wine in her hand. She had assured the lingering scent came from her own glass.
But now, that wine had already been poured over Harvey’s face. Yet, the same intoxicating aroma still lingered as she closer to Theodore.
Her gaze fell to his lips. The color was indeed slightly different from coagulated blood. Even so, they were remarkably well–shaped…..
For some reason, a phrase suddenly popped into her mind. Lips made for kissing”
The thought jolted her, and she immediately scolded herself internally. “Sinful. Absolutely sinful!”
“It’s Prof. Fisher!”
Wow! It really is Prof. Fisher! I can’t believe I’m seeing him in person!”
Excited gasps erupted from the guests on the first floor. They had known Leonard would attend the reception each
year,
but this elusive genius never showed himself to the general crowd.
Now, the crowd surged toward him in awe as if a god had descended into the mortal world, treating his presence like a pilgrimage.
The bodyguards trailing Leonard moved to intervene. With slight lift of his hand, Leonard signaled them to stop.
They hesitated. Leonard had always avoided public appearances. Even the executives in the second–floor conference hall had been stunned to see him take the elevator down.

The commotion drew Elara’s attention. Leonard, who was seated in his wheelchair, was quickly swallowed by the Crowd.
In such a chaotic environment, even breathing must have been difficult for him. Elara stepped forward without hesitation, pushing past the guests.
“Make way!”
The crowd parted at the sound of her voice, clearing a path for her
Leonard saw Elara approaching and instinctively lowered his gaze, unable to suppress the slight upward curve of his lips.
Elara squeezed through the crowd, her dress brushing against Leonard’s calf as she moved behind his wheelchair. She turned him around without hesitation and pushed him toward the elevator.
“What are you doing down here?” she asked, though there was no reproach in her tone. She had never once spoken ill of Leonard

“If my nephew were a dog, he’d need to be sent to obedience school for another semester,” Leonard remarked dryly.
Elara couldn’t hold back a laugh. To her, Leonard had always been a strict mentor. He was stern, yet caring in his
own way.
“I’ll get you out of here first.”
Without Leonard’s orders, the bodyguards didn’t dare act or their own. They finally breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that Elara was calmly wheeling him away.
Inside the elevator, Leonard sat facing the doors as Elara pushed him in. Just as the doors were about to close, Theodore stepped inside.
It took only a moment of inattention, and Leonard had already whisked Elara away. Leonard’s brow furrowed slightly, as if his territory had just been trespassed upon
“Mr. Snapp, what cologne have you been using lately? The artificial scent is quite strong,” Leonard commentet. Theodore immediately caught the sarcasm in his tone. Stretching out his deep, languid voice, he asked, “Prof. Fisher, do you have an interest in fragrances?”
Leonard shook his head, not bothering to look at him. “I don’t know much about perfume, but I do recognize the overwhelming scent of grade–A something coming from you.”
Elara, too, picked up on Leonard’s implied meaning. She was taken aback, gaining a newfound appreciation for him.
She had always thought of Leonard as someone detached from the trivialities of the world. She never expected him to be able to distinguish fakery so well. Her admiration for him deepened.
Theodore curled his lips into a seductive smirk as his gaze toward Leonard turned colder.
“I know a little about scents. Someone like you, Prof. Fisher, would be best suited for a white rose fragrance.
His dark eyes gleamed with amusement as he continued, “White roses may seem pure and unworldly on the surface, seemingly calm and unbothered.
“But in reality, they’re a master at playing the innocent, the fragile, and the pitiable.”
