Chapter 174
Harvey’s brows furrowed. “The butler never mentioned any of this to me.”
Bridget sighed in frustration. In the past, she would call Elara whenever Beau or Merida had any issues at school, and the problem would be resolved immediately.
But now, Beau had become a problem student. Despite multiple calls to the Fishers‘ butler, she had only received vague, dismissive responses.
Niamh scoffed. “Seriously? You’re making a big deal out of nothing
Bridget felt her patience snap. “The moment I heard you call yourself Beau’s father today, I finally understood where his bad habits are coming from!”
“What did you just say? You’d better watch your mouth before I slap you across the facel”
Niamh’s expression instantly turned vicious, as if she were about to roll up her sleeves and throw hands at the teacher.
Bridget instinctively flinched at Niamh’s sudden aggression. Meanwhile, Beau jumped up excitedly while clapping his hands.
“Yeah! Slap her across the face!”
At this age, Beau was eager to imitate adults, thinking that copying their words and actions made him seem mature and independent. To him, using foul language to intimidate others his age was a sign of power.
“Niamh!” Harvey’s sharp voice cut through the chaos, stopping her in her tracks.
Then, turning to Bridget, he stated, “I’ll make sure Beau is properly disciplined.”
Bridget pursed her lips. “Mr. Fisher, I assume you’ve heard the horror story of choosing the wrong companion?
“A child’s environment is crucial during their developmental years. I hope you will carefully consider the people. who have a constant presence in Beau’s life.”
“Oh, wow!” Niamh sneered. “So now you’re competing with me over femininity?”
Bridget was utterly bewildered. What kind of twisted logic was that? This woman’s brain must be wired in the strangest way possible!
“Ms. Jones, you
Displaying professionalism, Bridget forced herself to tear her gaze away from Niamh and handed the task card to Harvey instead.
“This is the first challenge of today’s parent–child event. I hope you and Beau have a wonderful time together.” Niamh’s hands curled into tight fists, her gaze dripping with disdain and challenge as she stared at Bridget. The way she handed that card to Harvey–her whole posture bent forward like some desperate flirt! She was de tely interested in him.
How dare a mere preschool teacher insinuate that she was a bad influence on Beau? If this teacher wanted to exclude her, then fine. She would make sure this insignificant little preschool teacher paid a heavy price for going against her.
Still, Niamh smirked and said, “Like me or not, it doesn’t matter. Today, I’m here as Beau’s closest family member, and I will be participating.”

Beau stood up for Niamh. “That’s tight! Niamh is my family!”

Bridget completely ignored her and turned her attention to welcoming the other children and parents. Niamh smirked coldly, convinced the teacher was avoiding her out of fear. Then, she shifted her gaze and looked in Elara’s direction.
Meanwhile, Finnegan scanned the row of three–person bicycles before selecting one with a nearly perfect chain and tires. To accommodate the height of preschoolers, the event bicycles were shorter than standard ones, However, this made them awkward for adults to ride.
After reading the task card, Finnegan immediately began strategizing.
“We need to assign roles. Someone has to protect the bucket of carrots and cabbage, someone needs to take the lead and power the bike, and one person has to keep the alpacas away.”
Elara considered for a moment before saying, “Only you and I can completely shield the bucket. I’ll protect the carrots, and you take the lead to maintain speed.”
Then, she turned to Merida, who eagerly raised her hand. “I chase away the alpacas!”
As long as Finnegan pedaled fast enough, Elara would be able to fully shield the bucket and avoid the alpacas‘ attempts to snatch their vegetables.
This meant the job of keeping the alpacas at bay would be the easiest task. So, naturally, Elara assigned it to Merida.
